That reminds me of an interesting thing that happened to me one night some years ago. I had set off after midnight walking down the railroad tracks from my cabin just to see where one rail line went. I satisfied my curiosity and came out on the road again about four miles from my home. It had been a pleasant walk downhill. Now I was faced with going home...uphill...at about two in the a.m. Well, there was little help for it. I started hiking. Apparently someone in a house I passed did not like the looks of someone out walking at that hour. After a bit a deputy sheriff arrived...of the female sort. She asked for id, which I produced, and decided that the best solution to the problem to public peace I posed was to take me home. She did explain, though, that she would have to frisk me before I could get in the car.
I was too polite to say..."please!"

Turns out the "CREEPY MAN" was the grand-MOTHER of another student.
