"A dislike of death is no proof of the want of religion. The instincts of nature shrink from it, for no creature can like its own dissolution. But though death is not desired, the result of it may be, for dying to the Christian is the way to life eternal."

William Jay, a very respectful way of speaking of death and christianity.

I personally do not fear death, but the process is what we fear and dread. Maks sense to me. ~Nina

Here's one a little more profane and disrespectful I think..

Who Said:
"I'm not afraid of death. I just don't want to be there when it happens"

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

"I believe that those who deny eternal security, whether from an Arminian or an extreme Calvinist perspective, have a poorly developed doctrine of sin."

C Michael Patton ~ Kindly explain that sentence to me, it is beyond my comprehension.

"and an attitude of grace" and this?

Is he talking about Chuck Smith? I love Chuck Smith, I used to watch him on Christian TV, wonderful teacher.

Wow, what a wonderful site! We are always getting in discussions about pre destination, once saved always saved, etc. Never knew there was a name for them until I was viewing this site.

Thanks TS!

C. Michael Patton wasn't the source I found this in although I don't doubt he may also have said/used it. I'll post this in the religion forum and discuss it there.

God did not rescue the Israelites because they worshipped him while they were in Egypt. Nor did God rescue them because they were obeying his commandments.

I tried on this one but gave up. Does it have anything to do with Abraham? I certainly couldn't find anyone who said it.
