God’s Simple Plan of Salvation--(JUST TO REMIND YOU-- THESE DO NOT SAY YOU MUST BE A CERTAIN RELIGION OR DENOMINATION -- JUST BELIEVE!!!!) by Pastor Ford Porter
My Friend: I am asking you the most important question of life. Your joy or your sorrow for all eternity depends upon your answer. The question is: Are you saved? It is not a question of how good you are, nor if you are a church member, but are you saved? Are you sure you will go to Heaven when you die?
God says in order to go to Heaven, you must be born again. In John 3:7, Jesus said to Nicodemus, “Ye must be born again.”
In the Bible God gives us the plan of how to be born again which means to be saved. His plan is simple! You can be saved today. How?
First, my friend, you must realize you are a sinner. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
Because you are a sinner, you are condemned to death. “For the wages [payment] of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). This includes eternal separation from God in Hell.
“ . . . it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27).
But God loved you so much He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus, to bear your sin and die in your place. “ . . . He hath made Him [Jesus, Who knew no sin] to be sin for us . . . that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Corinthians 5:21).
Jesus had to shed His blood and die. “For the life of the flesh is in the blood” (Lev. 17:11). “ . . . without shedding of blood is no remission [pardon]” (Hebrews 9:22).
“ . . . God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).
Although we cannot understand how, God said my sins and your sins were laid upon Jesus and He died in our place. He became our substitute. It is true. God cannot lie.
My friend, “God . . . commandeth all men everywhere to repent” (Acts 17:30). This repentance is a change of mind that agrees with God that one is a sinner, and also agrees with what Jesus did for us on the Cross.
In Acts 16:30-31, the Philippian jailer asked Paul and Silas: “ . . . ‘Sirs, what must I do to be saved?’ And they said, ‘Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved . . . .’ ”
Simply believe on Him as the one who bore your sin, died in your place, was buried, and whom God resurrected. His resurrection powerfully assures that the believer can claim everlasting life when Jesus is received as Savior.
“But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name” (John 1:12).
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13).
Whosoever includes you. Shall be saved means not maybe, nor can, but shall be saved.
Surely, you realize you are a sinner. Right now, wherever you are, repenting, lift your heart to God in prayer.
In Luke 18:13, the sinner prayed: “God be merciful to me a sinner.” Just pray: “Oh God, I know I am a sinner. I believe Jesus was my substitute when He died on the Cross. I believe His shed blood, death, burial, and resurrection were for me. I now receive Him as my Savior. I thank You for the forgiveness of my sins, the gift of salvation and everlasting life, because of Your merciful grace. Amen.”
Just take God at His word and claim His salvation by faith. Believe, and you will be saved. No church, no lodge, no good works can save you. Remember, God does the saving. All of it!
God’s simple plan of salvation is: You are a sinner. Therefore, unless you believe on Jesus Who died in your place, you will spend eternity in Hell. If you believe on Him as your crucified, buried, and risen Savior, you receive forgiveness for all of your sins and His gift of eternal salvation by faith.
You say, “Surely, it cannot be that simple.” Yes, that simple! It is scriptural. It is God’s plan. My friend, believe on Jesus and receive Him as Savior today.
If His plan is not perfectly clear, read this tract over and over, without laying it down, until you understand it. Your soul is worth more than all the world.
“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:36).
Be sure you are saved. If you lose your soul, you miss Heaven and lose all. Please! Let God save you this very moment.
God’s power will save you, keep you saved, and enable you to live a victorious Christian life. “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, Who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it” (1 Corinthians 10:13).
Do not trust your feelings. They change. Stand on God’s promises. They never change. After you are saved, there are three things to practice daily for spiritual growth:
Pray -- you talk to God. Read your Bible -- God talks to you. Witness -- you talk for God. AFTER you are saved, you should be baptized in obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ as a public testimony of your salvation, and then unite with a Bible-believing church without delay. “Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord . . . .” (2 Timothy 1:8).
Please note that you DON'T have to be baptized to go to Heaven. It is a step of obedience for the believer.
“Whosoever therefore shall confess [testify of] Me before men, him will I confess also before My Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 10:32).

Just Stay A nurse took the tired, anxious serviceman to the bedside. 'Your son is here,' she said to the old man. She had to repeat the words several times before the patient's eyes opened. Heavily sedated because of the pain of his heart attack, he dimly saw the young uniformed Marine standing outside the oxygen tent. He reached out his hand. The Marine wrapped his toughened fingers around the old man's limp ones, squeezing a message of love and encouragement.
The nurse brought a chair so that the Marine could sit beside the bed. All through the night the young Marine sat there in the poorly lighted ward, holding the old man's hand and offering him words of love and strength
Occasionally, the nurse suggested that the Marine move away and rest awhile. He refused. Whenever the nurse came into the ward, the Marine was oblivious of her and of the night noises of the hospital - the clanking of the oxygen tank, the laughter of the night staff members exchanging greetings, the cries and moans of the other patients.
Now and then she heard him say a few gentle words. The dying man said nothing, only held tightly to his son all through the night. Along towards dawn, the old man died. The Marine released the now lifeless hand he had been holding and went to tell the nurse. While she did what she had to do, he waited.
Finally, she returned. She started to offer words of sympathy, but the Marine interrupted her.
'Who was that man?' he asked. The nurse was startled, 'He was your father,' she answered. 'No, he wasn't,' the Marine replied. 'I never saw him before in my life.' 'Then why didn't you say something when I took you to him?' 'I knew right away there had been a mistake, but I also knew he needed his son, and his son just wasn't here. When I realized that he was too sick to tell whether or not I was his son, knowing how much he needed me, I stayed.'
The next time someone needs you ... just be there.. Stay. ************** WE ARE NOT HUMAN BEINGS GOING THROUGH A TEMPORARY SPIRITUAL EXPERIENCE. WE ARE SPIRITUAL BEINGS GOING THROUGH A TEMPORARY HUMAN EXPERIENCE. (love this line)
THIS IS WHAT WE ARE PUT ON THIS EARTH TO DO ANYWAY.. RIGHT ? HAVE A GREAT DAY AND BLESS SOMEONE ELSE IN SOME LITTLE WAY TODAY!
GOD IS SO GOOD.

Continuation of Sermonettes to dajcat AT HIS INVITATION, from page 4 of this thread
THIS SERMONETTE IS ON THE FUTILITY OF REPETITIVE QUESTIONS EVEN AFTER BEING GIVEN THE CORRECT ANSWER.
THIS SERMONETTE INCLUDES A TEACHING ON HOW TO TREAT CATHOLICS WITH RESPECT, CIVILITY AND CHRISTIAN CHARITY, INSTEAD OF LYING AND SPREADING FALSE ALLEGATIONS ABOUT THEIR BELIEFS. Quote: Originally posted by dajcat on 02 September 2009 You are welcome to post any sermonette you choose Firebird......... Please we would love to read your sermonette..... dajcat Thank you for the invitation to post another Sermonette. Mine is all about the importance of teaching and speaking the truth. If the truth means sharing God’s Word as Catholics believe, then that truth should be respected. If you don't accept Catholic teachings, no one has forced you to do so. You are free to worship your Bible as you choose, instead of daily slandering Catholics and spreading hate-filled propaganda about our beliefs.
1. You persistently ask the same trite questions about our beliefs even after being given the correct Catholic teaching. This comes from soul unrest and disturbance. It is annoying, offensive, rude and obnoxious. It causes others seeking Christ to turn away in discouragement. Instead of saying you don't agree, you launch into even more vitriolic attacks which digress from the initial question you asked. That leads to more spiritual unrest, more unstable thinking; it sows discord, plants doubt, stirs needless strife and engenders religious intolerance towards Catholics. None of this behavior accords with Christ's teachings, nor are you teaching God's Word as you often claim. It is really all about YOU, YOUR FALSE OPINIONS and MISTAKEN BELIEFS about Catholicism.
You willfully break God's commandments and scandalize unbelievers by your hypocrisy! Those who have had the misfortune to give bad example, and to wound or cause the perdition of souls by scandal, must take care to repair all in this world, if they would not be subjected to the most terrible expiation in the other. It was not in vain that Jesus Christ cried out, "Woe to the world because of scandals! Woe to that man by whom the scandal cometh!" (Matt 18:7). Check Pages 4-6 of this Sermonette Thread and below for evidence of your despicable unchristian behavior:
2. ON REPEATEDLY DENYING PURGATORY in Catholic Truths & Myths, P. 68 - Post #1342; P. 84 - Posts #1675, #1677 & #1679
3. ON DENYING PURGATORY AGAIN ON P. 90 of the Keys thread, 6 February 2009 QUOTE by dajcat on 6 February 2009 Purgatory cannot be proved it is an invention of the RC church. Are you not afraid of the suffering you will have to endure in your imaginary purgatory? If there is no pain in purgatory what use does it serve? Only another form of self inflicted torment that makes you feel more pius. QUOTE from emcyay2000 on 06 February 2009 I have no idea what you’re even talking about now. We were actually discussing things and then -- whammo! Did someone tell you it’s suddenly open season on Catholics again?
I don’t even know why you ask these questions. Are you looking for a different answer? Do you think an angry diatribe is going to make me flinch or fall apart? Not going to happen, my friend. Like I said earlier, daj -- you don’t like to be accused of bashing, or bigotry let’s try the word prejudice. You have already prejudged me and 1.1 billion like me, so I guess that would make you, oh I see, God? Sorry, the job’s been filled, my friend and you ain’t He.
You’ve gotten yourself all worked up and I’m just not going to even try to answer. Who wins by this kind of vitriolic frenzy, daj? Who’s feeding your head? Go back and ask whatever it is driving you right now to identify itself. Tell it to stand up for itself and stop using you Em
QUOTE by dajcat on 06 February 2009, telling a bold-faced lie that he is worked up. I’m not the least worked up Em only posting the truth. If i can save one person from making the mistake of becomming RC by my postings then i have done my job. QUOTE from emcyay2000 on 06 February 2009 So you have appointed yourself God, judge of all and reader of souls. But you might want to be a little more articulate next time, God.
4. ON CATHOLIC SAINTS in Catholic Truths & Myths, P. 76 Posts #1513-#1514 rebuttals to your hate-filled attacks on Catholic Saints & why they are not around today.
5. ON ORDINATION OF WOMEN in the Keys Thread, P. 36 on August 18, 2008QUOTE from rorussell on 18 August 2008 to refute your allegations: Dajcat, do you ever read a post and ask yourself what it means before you start running off at the mouth? What part of firebird’s post on the ordination of women don’t you understand? She said, "The RCC does not ordain women." If a renegade bishop or priest attempts to ordain inappropriately, they are excommunicated. That person is not the RCC. They are not the same thing. You’re making a fool out of yourself by attacking others for your misconceptions. 6. ON CHEAPENING AND DIRTYING ANOTHER'S BELIEFS in the Mormon Thread, P. 172Quote from dajcat "it doesn’t hurt to remind ( even ourselves) where the Mormons are coming from. They might be a good and loving people but they are not God’s people." Quote from gfchase - "David, it is truly amazing how you manage to twist things to suit your own agenda and to make something cheap and dirty out of something holy. I feel sorry for you.....Talk about irrational, I do not believe you even bothered to read what I wrote, as it appears that you are rambling on about things I never said. Let me suggest that you take a couple of deep breaths and start over."Ahem! Pontificating from your shaky sola scriptura stool and uttering foolish personal opinions are not allowed by God. It makes many people angry and frustrated with you. It causes dissension. Do accept my deepest appreciation for inviting me to gift you with another Sermonette - this time it is on civility; how to speak out of Christian charity to others in Spirit and Truth, and how to obey God's Word. You will find this lesson useful for your soul. It will impede any effort to spin outrageous yarns, hurt others by your sinful tactics and constant persecution, harassment and attacks against Catholics. You are over 81 years old and claimed you never came across anyone like me before. Well, dajcat, thank Almighty God for putting me in your path as your ministering angel. Every time you fall into habitual sins, I will yank you up by your little longies right out of the abyss that you are plunging yourself into. "What we do in life echoes in eternity." - Maximus

The last two posts of Firebird "just over flows with the love of Christ" -- Is that REALLY what Christ wants us to do -- Firebird, enough! Sometimes you need to turn the other cheek and move on. When someone offends us, ignoring them works wonders!

You kind of contradicted your sermonette about the serviceman who stayed because he was needed.. . I'm confused. What DO you believe? Aparently no one is ignoring so that's a moot point. Then again, after my Christians United posting calling everyone out on the floor there, Maybe it's not. Hm. "I'm not here. Leave a message!"

She needs to ignore him if it offends her. And ignore me if I have done it too. Move on to more Christian posts. We must ALL pray for each other to see what we've done to offend and stop it. What really good has it done to keep arguing???

You all need to back up and just ignore if that is what you want others to do that as well. Practice what you preach. Point the finger at me any time you want. You are a human just like me. Nic, I pray that this Forum takes a turn for the better-- no more arguing, no more bickering, no more lies and no more hurt feelings. I have tried but I'm giving up this Forum to you to draw in the people who have caused all the division. I believe I will be moving on to be better than I have been - with Lord's help I know I can make a difference elsewhere. Keep believing in yourself and the love you feel radiating from your family and those who have passed on who you hold dear.--Love in Christ, Sally

The Grace of Quietness A Sermonette "But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment." (Matthew 12:36) "Let your speech be always with grace," the Scripture says (Colossians 4:6), "seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man," and "study to be quiet, and to do your own business" (1 Thessalonians 4:11). There is such a thing as the sin of talkativeness, and many Christians are beset by it. Note some of the pertinent Scriptures: "He that hath knowledge spareth his words. . . . Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding" (Proverbs 17:27-28). "Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few" (Ecclesiastes 5:2). "Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath" (James 1:19). "But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil" (Matthew 5:37). "In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise" (Proverbs 10:19). "Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks" (Ephesians 5:4). There are many other such warnings, of course, but the one in our text is perhaps the most sobering of all. Evidently God has a sort of "tape recording" of all our conversations, and we shall be required some day to explain all those words which were not gracious and edifying. We would do well before the record of our idle and pointless conversations (not even to mention any that are hurtful or profane) mounts any higher to forsake the sin of talking too much, and to cultivate prayerfully the grace of quietness. HMM ICR

Amen!!!!!!! You are as near as my computer by email and vice versa. I've tried to tolerate but it got to be too much. I've tried to be a fence sitter, going after even those who believed as myself but didn't say the words correctly. I will be changing providers and getting away from the Unchristian behavior I've witnessed here. ALWAYS - In Christ, Sally. We WILL meet again someday!!

OUR BIBLE by Myrtly Broadworth
Oh blessed book within our hand inspired thy pages fair In reverend awe thy truths we seek and find such treasures there
We read of God----Omnipetent who all the worlds has made the majestyof starry skies, the quiet dewy glades
His footsteps mark unfathomed seas His eye each hidden spring, Whle in His hand He holds the breath' of every living thing
but more precious all His thoughts expressed in love to fallen man and far beyond creation's power God's great redemption plan
That He the High and Holy One shouldst stoop in hearts to dwell through Calvary's Love Immeasurable nor every tongue can tell
Oh. Holy treasure , book Divine our light upon the way Impress thy truths upon our hearts more dear to grow each day
Sally you have been asked by more than one not to leave. Remember good and bad attitudes will be found no matter where you go. Leaving will not change anything. Put on the full armor of God. and stay. david
