Have you ever had the desire to preach? I have and I suspect that many of us are trying to do that very thing on this forum. So heres your chance. All I ask is that you keep it clean and respectfull and may the Lord be glorified in what is posted. No jokes or disrespect to any faiths. Lets keep it so we can all learn from it. If questions need be asked take it to some other topic. Let this be pure preaching. Do I hear an Amen anyone?

THE PIT AND THE FROGS
Rivit, rivit said the frog, rivit ,rivit came a reply. Rivit , rivit came a cry like a thunderous roar.
What happened to me said Rivit #1? All I was doing was having fun. Hopping and jumping, going along enjoying myself when all of a sudden down I went into this pit. Yeah me too said Rivit #2 and we also cried Rivits #3. Now were stuck with no way out and probably will die down here.
Just then a thunderous movement shook the earth, a human being was climbing down into the pit. Watch out said Rivit #1 hell squash you. Dont let him grab you , slip out of his hand and ,jump ,jump ,jump back and forth. Keep away from him.
Hey guys look at me they heard comming from above the pit. Look at me Im out of it, the pit. He caught me and put me up here , I see grass and lite Im alive again. He snatched me up in his hand I was dead and am now again alive. I had no hope down there. I was doomed.
This is the story of mankind. Falling into the pit of stubborness, self centeredness, self sufficiency, Ill take my chances and do it my way. This is the human mentality. No sir Ill take my chances, rivit rivit, Theres another place later on where I can learn about God and Hell give me a second chance.
My fellow frogs NOW IS THE TIME OF SALVATION. IT IS APPOINTED FOR MAN TO DIE BUT ONCE AND THEN THE JUDGEMENT. Take a Chance Upon Jesus, look into His wonderful face NOW. Put your life in the Hands of the Man from Gallillee. Youll never regret it. He is calling to us to save us from the pit.Rivit, Rivit.. Companion

I can remember growing up being told by many of my elders that I should pursue preaching. I never saw myself as worthy of that distinction. But, this is a cool idea. I am not casting pearls to swi

I can remember standing in the pulpit of my church when no one was around when I was a small boy. I wanted to become a preacher but the world lured me away. Later on I returned and was told to wait for Gods call. I have waited like Moses for 40 years so is God calling me now at 80 ? I wont be so bold to say yes but if so I am humbled by His grace. " I walked with God and then I was not. " to have that on my tombstone is enough for me. dajcat

A short and to the point sermonette for this thread: Deuteronomy 4:2 NAS "You shall not add to the word which I am commanding you, nor take away from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you. God meant this literally and the Torah is just as important today as it was when it was given to Moses. I am not casting pearls to swi

Ya know, I heard a Circuit Riding Preacher say these words one day: "Lord, I’d rather see a sermon, than hear one any day. And, I’d rather one walk with me than merely show the way. The best of all the preachers, are the men who live their creeds. And, to see their good in action, is what everybody needs.
Ya know Lord, I can learn to do it, if ya let me see it done.
I can watch their hands in action, but their tongues — too fast may run. And the sermons they deliver may be very wise, and true. But, I’d rather get my lesson by watching what they do. For I may misunderstand them, by the high advise they give. But there’s no misunderstanding, how they act and how they live."

The Road Home
October 29th /2002. Have you ever had the desire to preach a sermon? Have you preached one while asleep so perfectly and yet when given the opportunity to do so while awake you fumble for words or remember afterwards that you missed saying this or should have added that.? I have From time to time as the Spirit leads or thoughts come into my head either of my own or the Holy Spirit I will try and remember them.I would hope that all of them would be under His full control and authorship and pray for same so Dear Lord please keep me in line. I will of course from time to time reread these and see if my earthly (human ) viewpoint has changed . If they could be of service to the Lord (here comes Mr. Pride) perchance someone should stumble across them or I might be given the opportunity to preach it would please me greatly.
I was caught up short this morning by the Lord and as I pondered my poor condition I thought of a title to my first sermon and even some of the words. I will call it:
" THE ROAD HOME IS PAVED WITH BLOOD "
In the Bible Jesus said that "Narrow is the Way and broad is the road that leadeth to destruction. Jesus used the symbol of two roads that stretch out in front of you. One road is strewn with all the glitter , money, freebies , people and supposedly material things that will make our life more enjoyable. Its surface smooth and inviting . I remember as a young boy on the streets of NYC watching with anticipation, along with my friends ,the final roll of the steam roller finishing off a newly paved road. Our skates in hand eager to try out its surface. Once the workman had left, on they went and "let the skate begin." For a few weeks we were in what you could call skate heaven. But eventually as the cars and trucks and the dirt and grime of the city passed over it its surface began to become pitted and cracked , no longer smooth and safe to skate on. We had to abandon it and move on to another road newly paved. In NYC they were always paving here and there within easy reach so we had a pretty good choice. This is the road pictured and named by Jesus as the road that leadeth to destruction. Always being paved , always giving you another site or lure to lead you further onward looking for that next smooth way, the comfortable life until at last you are so far along that to go back is to find the road littered with potholes that your skates are no longer usable. The distance to great to walk and your body no longer able to handle the strain. So you turn further onward to the paved section smooth and inviting.
Now the other road that Jesus mentioned, the narrow way, the narrow road so to speak, what kind of a road is it?. When you think of a narrow way or road you think of a very restrictive tight place. I have never been to England but I am told that many of the roads are very narrow and of course they drive on the opposite side, I imagine for someone driving there the first time it could be frightening. In thinking of its spiritual implications you think of a way with many laws, many dos and do nots, not being able to do this or forbidden to do that. Much of what we picture is in fact man made. No playing cards, no movies on Sunday, no dancing ,etc. etc. The truth of the matter is that this way , this road , is easier to travel than the other. Why? Because there are no distractions. No vendors along the way inviting you to try their goodies. No sirens singing their enchanting song to lure you to the side or to the edge. Oh it has its high spots its dips and it might not be as smooth as the other but never the less a far easier road , a safer road to travel. Why? Because it has been paved with blood.. The Blood of Jesus poured out for us at Calvary. He calls Himself the Way, the Truth and the Life and that no man cometh unto the Father but by Him, all others are but thieves and robbers. All other religions regardless of wether they worship the same God as we do, or any god ..If He, Jesus is not at the forfront , is not at the very core, is not recognized as coming down from the Father, being part of the Father and sitting at the right hand of the Father is not recognized as dying for us and rising again, then their faith is without hope. How can this be for surely all roads lead home. It is not sufficient enough for us to recognize Him as a good teacher and a very important figure in the history of mankind. It is not sufficient enough to respect Him, to admire Him , even to love Him. What is needed is simple faith , simple belief, simple trust (as a little child) in HIM. He promised us that He would never leave us or forsake us, that He would walk beside us, even some times carrying us like His cross at Calvary. We have had our way made straight , our focus should be onwards and upwards. Yes there are times when we become tired, when we stumble, when we even fall but He is ever there to reach out His loving hand to lift us up and encourage us. As His words echo in my ears as He was carried up "and lo I will be with you always even unto the end of the world" I put my faith in Him. Will you not also? Take a Chance Upon Jesus, Take a Chance Upon Him, Take a Chance Upon Jesus and let Him enter in. Companion

Genesis 41:51 Joseph named the firstborn Manasseh, "For," he said, "God has made me forget all my trouble and all my fathers household." There is a huge feeling of depression in the world. But, sometimes I forget that I am not supposed to focus on the wordly. With all the trouble Joseph went through he never waivered in his faith and trust in God. I only wish I could say the same for myself. How do I lose focus? Distractions are easily ignored if I keep my eye on what is important. Without focus mistakes will happen. Without focus the vision will be blury. Without focus the worldly and false teachings of this world will gain a hold on my course. Job 4:8 "According to what I have seen, those who plow iniquity And those who sow trouble harvest it. I know there have been times when I have not performed up to high standards. The more I trust and seek God the easier it is to live by higher standards. However, it is not easy. The easy road it the lifestyle of convenience, lack or morals, power grabbing, and greed. Those temptations are strong and they all lead to more evil in my life. Life is sweet without these worldly perils. My only hope is to repent and move away from that which is worldly. Hebrews 12 15.See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God ; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled ; 16.that there be no immoral or godless person like Esau, who sold his own birthright for a single meal. 17.For you know that even afterwards, when he desired to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought for it with tears. My son has recently had some issues with some older students bullying him. The hardest part of this experience is going through the pain and anguish with him. But, I try to be there with him. I tell him I love him over and over. I tell him how proud I am when he has the courage to say "stop it". Hugs are so important for both of us because I know we both feel better afterwards. I want him to know that during this tough time I will be with him all the way. In the end we will both be stonger and our relationship will be emboldened. I just hit me today how special this experience is. Isnt this exactly what God the Father does for us? When we have tough times we are not alone. When we hurt God hurts. There are spiritual hugs, love, and the warmth of Gods pride there to help us along the way. And, when we get through that time of struggling arent we stronger for it. I know that my relationship with God only grows each time I have to lean on Him. Maybe thats why God gave us the gift of fatherhood. So we could have a way to begin to understand His love and relationship with us. What a wonderful gift. I am not casting pearls to swi

When we were growing up how many times did you hear "Because I said NO!"? I know I heard it often. I was looking for a loophole or a way to slack on my responsibility. It was simple. If I could find a way around my parents rules I didnt have to obey their rules. As I grew up I learned to respect those rules and started to understand there was a reason for them. No meant no and I didnt need to know why. I just needed to listen and obey for my own good. My parents knew best and trusting them was all I need to know. The first story everyone remembers from the Bible is the Apple from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Why do we try to understand why God said that Adam and Eve could not eat from that tree? Why does it matter what Gods reason was? We know we can trust Him and He protects us always. So, why do we look for more reasons behind Gods first rule or commandment. Its simple. The only reason we need is because God said NO! I am not casting pearls to swi

Remember a while back when some anonymous person spent a whole lot of money to put up black billboards, with quotes in white letters like:
What part of Thou shalt not commit adultery dont you understand?
I loved those billboards.

Candy Canes
Have you ever thought about it. Candy Canes are only around at Christmas time. Turn a candy cane upside down and it is the letter J (Jesus is the reason for the season). Hold it right side up and it resembles a sheperds crook (He said "I am the good sheperd") The red stripe stands for the blood He shed for you and me.(this is my body which is shed for you ") The white stripe for the cleansing He has done to us. ("tho your sins be as scarlet I will make them whiter than snow") When you taste it it is as the sweetness of honey ("thy word is as honey in my mouth").
So the next time you have a candy cane or see one look at it in a different way then just a sweet piece of candy . Remember fellowship with Jesus is sweeter than honey. HOW SWEET THE NAME OF JESUS SOUNDS IN A BELIEVERS EAR.
A BLESSED CHRISTMAS TO ALL

----- Merry Christmas from Randy and Peggy
Merry Christmas!!
WHY JESUS IS BETTER THAN
SANTA CLAUS!
Santa lives at the North Pole.
JESUS is everywhere.
Santa rides in a sleigh.
JESUS rides on the wind and
Walks on the water.
Santa comes but once a year.
JESUS is our ever present help.
Santa fills your stockings with goodies.
JESUS supplies all your needs.
Santa comes down your chimney uninvited.
JESUS stands at your door and knocks,
And then enters your heart when invited.
You have to wait in line to see Santa.
JESUS is as close as the mention
Of His name.
Santa lets you sit on his lap.
JESUS lets you rest in His arms.
Santa doesnt know your name,
All he can say is "Hi little boy or girl,
whats your name?"
JESUS knew our name
Even before we were born.
Not only does He know our name,
He knows our address too.
He knows our history and future.
He even knows how many hairs
Are on our heads.
Santa has a belly like a bowl full of jelly.
JESUS has a heart full of love.
All Santa can offer is
"HO HO HO"
JESUS offers health,
Help and "hope."
Santa says
"You better not cry".
JESUS says
"Cast all your cares on me
For I care for you."
Santa may make you chuckle.
JESUS gives you joy
That is your strength.
While Santa puts gifts
Under your tree.
JESUS became our gift and
He died on a tree.. The cross!
We need to put Christ back in CHRISTmas!
Jesus is still the Reason for the Season.
For God so loved the world,
That He gave His only begotten Son,
That whosoever believeth in Him
Should not perish,
But have everlasting life.
John 3:16

Jesus is still the Reason for the Season.
Sounds good on paper, but the real reason is Wal-Mart, and everybody knows it.
They draw the crowds like no Jesus ever did.
One man even got trampled to death in one Wal-Mart upon the doors being opened, so worked up was the crowd.
The best thing Christianity could do for their idol is to disassociate themselves and him from the commercialism of Christmas entirely, and return to the original mystical practices of early Christianity. That means accessing the inner Christ (gnosis) via of concentrated meditation.

Sorry to hear about your son being bullied in school, jym.
I recall the story of one disk jockey in San Francisco who was bullied when he was in high school for being gay. He happened to be smarter than the bullies, and told them, in so many words, that if they continued to harass him, he had many gang member friends who would look into the matter on his behalf. The harassment stopped.

It is a tough learning experience but one that made him stronger. It is just much tougher when they are in kindergarten and the bully is older. I cant expect him to stand up someone that much older. But, he is learning to handle things the right way. I am not casting pearls to swi
