I am surprised at how many of these symptoms are also experienced by people on prescription meds.

I lost a beautiful, young and vivacious cousin (actually more of a younger sister) with two young sons to a prescription drug interaction just a few years ago. Her doctor didn’t bother to check for interaction with other medication she was taking.

Now, I always research anything prescribed to me before, I take it and have actually caught things the doctors missed.

Pappy,

Have you had a DAV rep look into this for you, for a possible compensable link to your service in Viet Nam? It’s not just genetic.

I’m going to try this...I have some symptoms for sure, not badly, but enough that I think this could help.

Its’ additional to a personal message I got from a neighbor. She has three types arthritis and is badly crippled..

Her doctor told her never ever use diet drinks or products.

Bless you in advance:

On the other side of the coin, I have been on diet sugars since 1973, I am still here and have no diabetes. Nina how come you’re not in "games". I miss you, you are one of the few that plays them correctly.

My use has mostly been sacrin, my understanding is they are not using aspertane anymore?

it is not me,sorry. the topic has changed several time all by the same person.

The same person had a grandchild kidnapped several years ago, said grandchild was with the Dad.

I am not going to hijack the topic but this all started with a brain tumor.

I know Viet Nam era vets who STILL have claims pending.

Per someone’s advice, I had a DAV rep go over my military medical records just to be sure...

As you probably know, they’re a non-profit organization run and staffed by disable vets (every last one!) and not affiliated with the VA (which means they ARE on our side). They’re better at what they do than any attorney in the private sector.

They’ve forgotten more than any attorney (I’ve yet to find, knows about the process and/or the unique, service-connected injuries (physical and emotional) veterans can aquire.

Even though you call yourself "old", you might look into this if you haven’t already done so.

Thank you Twilitestar, but it seems there’s not pat test for Lyme’s just as there’s no pat test for MS, except autopsy. I can wait for that one.

Apparently doctors go by how a patient react to some of the tests. I reacted to one of the MS tests, but as I said my doctor wants more proof.

Thanks Flat.

I did not know about there being no pat test for MS nor Lyme’s.

That helps explain some dilemnas I have heard about.

One woman was diagnosed with MS when she was about 30, then 20 years later, they said she did not have it.

Were they to think that God healed her?

Another woman says she has cramps in her legs and cannot sleep due to MS. Others who know her say she does not really have it, or doctors are not 100% sure that she does. Interesting.

The information you gave helps a lot.

I had wondered if I had it, but also have some of the syptoms of the ones that mimmic it.

Basically, I have found if I get enough sleep,

eat lots of good veggies, like broccoli,

and get good exercise, I feel much better, unless I have an injury, which I do now on my leg and left hand.

At least I can type and only had trouble walking a few days. I had been trying to mow my lawn with a push mower and it seemed to stress out a leg that had a former injury.

Again, thanks for this info.

Twilite, Many times I read or hear that MS is diagnosed when there is nothing else left to name.OR, I should say when known disease has been ruled OUT.

Not exactly the kind of good science we need, but it’s kinda what we are stuck with.

I do know this: MS is being diagnosed more and more often recent years and older patients when they might have had it for many years.

I wonder about that. Flats has some symptoms that I would feel could be dealt with quickly.I’m not a doctor, but that wait time would concern me as a patient.

What if she has a lesion/tumor right there at the site of the trouble that can be removed? It would seem a viable question to me..BUT, I will await Flats report on her visit today.

Brain lesions can’t be removed Nina, according to the neurosurgeon who first examined me after the first MRI.

As for Twilitester, please see a doctor about your difficulties, if treated early it can make a big differences in your well being. From what I was told once the nerves in your brain deteriorate it will never get better.

Your post is familiar, having good days and having bad days. That’s what’s happening to me as well. A few weeks ago I went deaf in my right ear twice. The first time was about a week the second was about three days.

My PCP told me to tell the neurologist this.

Lyme Disease mimics MS.

Apparently paps is a bitter angry man who likes to stalk and smear and deliberately misconstrue my posts, or he has comprehension problems, maybe both.

I had posted that I tested positive on an MS test, and while my tests for Lyme Disease which mimics MS was inconclusive my neurologist decided to have me treated for Lyme. I explained the PICC Line I had and the medicine I was given daily even week ends and holidays for three weeks. It killed every germ and bacteria in me and left me very weak.

When I saw my PCP a few weeks ago she became concerned when she saw how weak and pale I was even weeks after my last iv feeding so she suggested I get a second opinion from different neurologist which will happen Jan 29th.

Now I know paps will again be his nasty bitter self and try to post misinformation again about me (he's done this for about six years) but I am willing to set the record straight, yet again.

Maybe he thinks this is funny, or is trying to spoil this topic in an area that most people ignore until they see my name in it. But that's their choice. It's just a shame paps is like that, one can only hope he gets help.

Lyris,
I know what a PICC line is... I watched as the nurse took it out of my dad a couple weeks before he died. I was amazed that I did not faint, as usually the sight or smell of blood causes me to faint. I guess God allowed that to educate me.

Have you taken buttermilk or yogurt with cultures in it to help you rebuild your good bacteria in your body?
I hope you feel stronger soon.
