It was an email- that I probably already deleted. But we could reconstruct it I guess.

* Am I A Hot Dog?

Our minds can be very impressionable and can get carried away so easily.

Just as I was going to bed last night, the Oscar Mayer hotdog commercial came on...ya know the one...

Oh, I wish I were an Oscar Mayer Wiener,
That's what I would really love to be, [?]
For if I were an Oscar Mayer Wiener....
Everyone would be in love with me !

I can remember singing along with that jingle when I was little...if I sung it once, I sung it a million times !

When it made it's come back not long ago, I remember thinking,
" How cute ! "
My kids can get a kick out of it too !

But last night...for the first time it struck me completely different !

While I must say that that little tune is a very clever marketing strategy and has been a big hit... people really need to be careful what they wish for !

LOL !!!

If everyone loves you because you are a juicy hotdog... you will surely be eaten alive !

That doesn't sound too appealing to me !

The word of God says that confession is everything... after so many years of people singing along with that little jingle...
...is it any wonder that we are walking around in a world full of wieners !

I could not help but imagine this in my head !

It's a dog, eat dog world !

I went on up to bed and that doggone tune kept coming back to mind.

I had wieners on the brain !

It took all I had to get in a serious state so that I could pray.

The first thing I said was..." Father... really,
I do not have any desire what-so-ever to be an Oscar Mayer Wiener..."
" I hope You know that ! "
"I wish to be All that You want me to be (and I know that me being a wienie isn't in Your plan ) ! "

Just then I felt this tingle deep down in my belly...
My first thought was that I had humored God !
I wanted to laugh, but didn't want to wake my Hubby up.

I told God that I didn't really even care to dream about it either !

I drifted off to sleep with the most peaceful feeling, quite content with being loved by God !

I got up this morning and got a nice chuckle out of it !

"Oh, I wish to be a good and faithful servant,
That's what I will always strive to be...
God is there to always lead and guide me...
Because He is oh so in love with me !"
(...and you ! )

A merry heart does good, like medicine,
But a broken spirit dries the bones.
Prov.17:22

Be Blessed and don't be a wienie !...

Nikki, thank you for that sincere compliment.
I think I can wear that well. . . . at least I'll try.

That's a great little jingle to skip to.

Be concerned about your future.
You'll spend the rest of your life there.

THE BLOOD !!!

One day when I was really having a tough go of it, beating myself up one end and down the other
(just as everyone else), I approached God for some comfort.

I asked Him, " Lord why won't you just stop this?
I know that you can make my life so much better! "

My Dear One He replied,
"You can make your life so much better,
I have provided all that you need to do so ! "

" You have just not received all
I have to offer."

"The reason why this is so,
is because you do not feel worthy
of My promises."

" Well, Father, I am not worthy!
I have done some pretty bad things and all my life people have continuously done things that have left me feeling so dirty and very ashamed."

" I really do not know how to accept Your love, mercy and grace...
as I have never known anything like it. "

" I understand all of this my Child,
you are not worthy,
but that doesn't make Me
love you any less.
I still have the same feelings
and plans for you that I had
before your life ever existed
and took a turn for the worse. "

"But ya see, I took care of all of that!
Out of love and a desire
to be with you,
I sent Jesus to stand in
and be a sacrifice for you.
Since you have accepted My Son,
I have accepted you
and you are now a heir
to all that I have,"
He spoke into my heart.

" That sounds nice and all God, but I am still not worthy!"

" Like I said, I know this!
But now you are telling Me that the Blood of Jesus is not enough for you ?
"

" Well, maybe that is what I am saying,
I never thought about it like that before ! "

" My Dear, it is not about you, because "YOU ALONE"
can not live up to my Law, as no one else can !"

"It is about Jesus !"
"It is about Grace !"

" There is no more that I am able to do for you
until you truly accept and receive worthiness through Him !
Then and only then can you have it all ! "

As I really began to go over this in my mind, I once again began to feel very ashamed.

What I was saying when I believed I was not worthy, even through the Blood of Jesus,

...I was...

INSULTING THE VALUE OF IT !!!

If God says that it is more than enough............
...who am I

(or anyone for that matter)

to say it is not enough... ???

THANK YOU JESUS FOR TAKING SOMETHING SO NASTY, GROSS AND SO UNWORTHY.... AND MAKING IT WORTHY !

God so wants to speak you too !
And He will...if you only seek Him !

When we are in a broken state, that is when God will speak to us the most !

"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart,
And saves such as have a contrite spirit."
Ps 34:18

Here's a little gem (no pun intended Gemini) I'm sure you'll all appreciate. (also posted in Children's Songs)

Jesus is Lord
To the tune of "It's a small World After All"

It's a world of laughter,
A world of tears.
It's a world of Hope,
And a world of fears.
There's so much that we share,
That it's time we're aware-
It's a small world after all.

There is just one moon,
And one golden sun.
And a smile means,
Friendship to ev'ryone.
Though the mountains divide,
And the oceans are wide-
It's a small world after all.

It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small, small world.

He's the Lord of the sky,
He's the Lord of the sea.
He's the Lord of you,
He's the Lord of me.
Jesus died for my sins,
Gave me liberty within-
He's the Lord of Lords.

Jesus is Lord (Halleluiah)
Jesus is Lord (Halleluiah)
Jesus is Lord
He's Lord of Lords.

It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small, small world.

Two scriptures seem to contradict within me. The "Must become like little children" and "when I was a child.....but I put away all those childish things" The verses I dont know where they are (but I know they are there!!!) and that might not be the exact phrase (but I know it's there!!!). Make me wonder.

For the sake of it all, I'm going to go with what Jesus said over the rest of the texts and take on the "little children" philosophy.

Does this make me childish? GOOD! It means I'm doing something right!

I always wondered why they called cheating on your spouse: "ADULT-ery".. .

Granted, I have to go to work, pay bills, fix the car and go grocery shopping. I have to take the upper hand in helping raise my godchild as well as my other neices and nephews. WHen it comes to my ccd kids, I have to be the TEACHER and not the student. (although I do learn something from them too). But to have that complete trust in someone you have only read about and talked about in bible studies and heard about in church and have that being run your life (as much as you let Him with your free will or when He does His thing regardless of your stubborn butt) That takes something more special than simply dogma and traditions-no matter WHat religion you are.

WHen people actually DO that though, I have found them to be Right on track in life and no matter what socks them, they always come out of it more blessed than not.

I dont mind the scoffs from my "more enlightened" friends and cared ones. It means I am doing something right.

I just wonder with those contradicting scriptures....how do you figure in how we are to stand in our faith? Philosophically speaking that is.

Weinie, care to share?

Nic:
Those Scriptures make sense when taken in their individual context. Apart they do seem to contradict. As individual studies, they make all the sense in the world.
"And become like children..." - Matthew 18:3
"Train up a child..." _ Proverbs 22:6
"When I was a child, I spake as a child...." - 1Corinthians 13:11

Best child Scripture of all - "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe on His name." John 1:12.......He's my heavenly papa and I love it!

The child thing works for me! Flapper

Age is a state of mind.
I've got a childish mind and I like it!

Nic we are to be child like (trusting in our heavenly Father like our children trust in us) but not childish ( like running out in traffic and saying God will protect me). Not spouting what we think are biblical but are not found in the bible. Not accepting constructive criticizm even tho we may think it is not. Testing the spirits before we accept every wind of doctrine. Believing God said it and that's good enough for me. I may not understand it but i accept it. I remember my children saying to me "why can't I do this, or go there, or have that ? " My answer was a simple "because". I never had to expound on it. that's the way we should approach God not asking why but just accepting His "because." david

OK OK WE GET IT....Check on the JW Site! Once is enough! geesh! eyekafreekinrumba!

Anyways, I thought this would be appropriate to share.

We had a series called the Wounded Warrior. About someone who will have digs and battles almost just about all through their life but they accept that God wants them to go through whatever the pain or hurt they are presented to and they come out of it stronger. He mentioned a spiritual battle that goes on and it's uncanny how I'm hearing this.....as I go to mass or church service -depending on what church I go to- I'm always getting messages to go wtih whatever I'm goign through in my out of church life.

How we're pushed sometimes to pray for or with someone and how we're asked to go do something and we dont or when we go through a trial. My earth dad had a good example of this as when my car broke down I said I was being punished for all the ingratefulness I must have felt for wanting to leave hte hospital. He got fed up basically with what I was saying that I wasn't being punished "I WAS BEING TESTED!" I love how I talk to him sometimes and he just has this wise thing to say that has the perfect way of setting my head straight.

I want to encourage you to understand this: The pastor tonight at Epic was saying that as long as you go to a church that believes in what the bible teaches, That Jesus Christ is the Son of God and died for our sins, it doesnt matter what church we go to. CATHOLIC OR PROTESTANT, IT DOESN'T MATTER!!! There are many other brothers and sisters in other churches that are wonderful and our town is very diverse so there is a good choice.....These are his words!

I just thought I'd share this on the thread here. Have a great week folks!

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." —Ephesians 2:8,9

I must warn the world because billions of people are headed for an eternity in the Lake of Fire, i.e., the Second Death. Oh listen my friend, please don't go to Hell. Please don't miss out on Heaven.

I know what you're thinking, "What makes you think you're so right and all the other religions in the world are wrong?" The answer is very simple friend. If you'll study the AUTHORITY upon which each religion was established, then you WILL find the TRUTH. The Catholic religion is based upon manmade traditions. I triple-dog dare you to show me the "Immaculate Conception of Mary" doctrine in the Bible. You cannot. I triple-dog dare you to show me anything in the Bible indicating that Mary was a co-redeemer with Christ. You cannot.

The Jehovah's Witnesses religion is based upon the inferior writings of it's founder, Charles Taze Russell, began in 1874. Jehovah's Witnesses actually teach that Jesus was Michael the archangel incarnate. I triple-dog dare you to show me that doctrine in the Bible. You cannot.

The Mormon religion was founded by Joseph Smith in 1830 and is based upon his heresies and failed prophecies.

The Seventh-Day Adventists base their beliefs upon the heresies of self-proclaimed prophetess, Ellen G. White.

The Christian Science religion bases their beliefs upon the heretical writings of Mary Eddy Baker.

The Scientology religion bases it's beliefs upon the heresies of Ron Hubbard, it's founder.

The Lutheran religion bases it's beliefs upon the heresies of Martin Luther. Few protestants realize that Martin Luther taught sacramental and baptismal regeneration.

To add anything to simple faith in Christ is to curse one's self to Hell for eternity! It is a false gospel. The genuine New Testament Church was founded upon Jesus Christ, Who is the living Word of God. Biblical Christianity has its roots in the redemptive work and Person of the Lord Jesus Christ.
