I've heard his reluctance to sue. but he really should, with his money and his power; somebody needs to teach these bald-face liars a lesson for once and for all.

NOT a suit against the NFL. A suit against Al Sharpton, et. al., those who began these horrendous lies (oldest source I have seen was from a blogger in 2005), and those who repeated and repeated them with not even minimal effort to vet them.

The radical racial statements FALSELY attributed to Rush were all bold, bald-face lies. No one has ever been able to trace them back to Rush, not even the infamous left-wing FactCheck.

When the blogger was challenged for his source, he quoted a book published in 2007, yet the lies were on his blog site in 2005. The book author claimed the blogger as the unimpeachable source. No one ever even queried any one on Rush's staff. Absolutely no attempt was made to verify the lies... because the liars did not want the truth. They only wanted to vilify a most honorable man. Their so-called vetting was nothing but one big circle j*rk.

Rush needs to sue to set a precedent for all the other people who dare to speak out but can not afford the price they pay for telling the truth, people like Orly Taitz and Michael Savage.

The judge, a CLOSE personal friend of Rush, who was a guest in Rush's home many times, and performed his last wedding ceremony, was a black man, SC Justice, Clarence Thomas.

The only negative thing Rush has ever said with any racial overtones was when he complained about Donovan McNabb being made an NFL quarterback strictly on a racial basis, and he was so right! Oh, but no matter how lousy, those who are black must never be criticized.

A little paraphrase of a oft quoted piece of wisdom:

When excellence in plumbing is shunned because plumbing is a humble profession,
and shoddiness in quarterbacking is condoned because a quarterback is black,
Society is doomed.
Neither the pipes nor the quarterbacks will be able to carry the water.

Recession is when your neighbor loses his job.
Depression is when you lose your job.

Recovery is when Obama and Pelosi lose their jobs.

Due to the "public figure" rule, there would be a fairly large rock to move to prevail in such action.

The owner of the Rams does not have to let Rush (or anyone else) in and he chose not to, plain and simple. As far as that blowhard Limbaugh goes, it's a perfect example of "what goes around...comes around!" Boo hoo!

Philammar I agree that the Rams owners have the right to choose who they let join their elite club but the ugly truth is that a Ram's owner approached Rush about joining their group not the other way around. They knew there would be controversy by asking Rush and were fine with it until the liable racist comments were made and the media were reporting them as truth, then they withdrew their offer.
It is a crying a$$ shame that a team like the Rams full of strong, tough guys is owned by an elite group of Whooses who have been castrated through the process known as Political Correctness.

Defense of Rush is very brave. The known about him is not 100% hail fellow well met.
perhaps he can't afford to file a lawsuit. Not a good idea for those who would like to serve papers on HIM to have a set time and place to find his fat behind. lol.

As a person who has vilefied many, I agree 'what goes around comes around.'
He had tuff talk & plans for anyone abusing drugs..lots to say before he lost his hearing.
Wonder if his insurance covered his cochlear implant? Or would that be considered
self-induced?
Nevermind, he makes tons of money from listeners.

He is self-employed (owns 'EIB Brodacasting) and he has said many times that he does not use health insurance. (Just another one of ZerO's 30 million..) He merely pays all of his medical bills.
Nevermind, he makes tons of money from listeners.

As I posted above, he should file suit just to set a legal precedent for all of the other less wealthy who have been demonized by the extreme leftist zealots. Yes, he certainly does not need the money from a lawsuit.

And he gets nothing 'from his listeners'. His wealth is from the massive que of companies wanting to advertise on his show, even though he charges the highest rates in all of radio, higher than most TV advertising. He can charge record-breaking advertising fees and get it because of his shockingly high ratings.

I note you did not address the portion of my response where you and I might be in total agreement?
Kitty Kelley needs to be sued for her scandals on the famous?

I agreed too that Rush does not need money at all, another agreement. I just don't like him very much..my choice!
And, your choice to defend and promote him..just so.

Both Limbaugh and Kelley's subjects would have to prove at least legal "malice" to have a chance with such a suit. Carol Burnett managed to win against the National Enquirer in 1981. This was exceptional. Where politics are involved it would likely be more difficult.

You are very right about being difficult.
Carole Burnette's incident was very public at a dinner and a public restaurant..
The scandal mag had article that Carole was drunk and disorderly, and Ms. Burnette
had witnesses and staff that said otherwise.

Hats off to her for the win. It was an easy win for her, but a bother. I'm glad she took them on.

Related: I saw during checkout;[routinely each week], the most hateful headlines ever on the Globe covers about Bush#43 and wife Laura during his presidency. I do not understand how those idiots remained in business. total Crap was their game, and slamming all the time.

In the case of Kitty Kelley, I think she knows from the beginning what she is about the whole point of the book is to slander, innuendo, and profit from it.

Just my own opinion, but it might be good for someone to write a book on Kitty Kelley, her methods, and personality. Maybe someone else could make a little money there with whole truth.

One thing no one mentioned, and I find it curious if not at least interesting....

All of the NFL teams contribute mostly to Republicans each year.

Except one. The Rams. They are the only team that contributes more in favor of the Dem's, and THAT is the one team that Limbaugh was interested in owning.

Rep. Steve King (R-IA) speaks truth to NFL power
October 29, 2009 at 11:19 am
During Wednesday’s Congressional hearing about head injuries in football, Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) ripped NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell over the decision to not allow conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh to own a team when pop artists Fergie and Jennifer Lopez do.

Here’s a partial transcript:

I would ask Commissioner Goodell this question: Your position on owners having the right image, I would direct it to your statement on the 13th of October where you said, “I think it’s divisive comments are they not what the NFL is all about. I would not want to see those kinds of comments from people who are in responsible positions within the NFL. No, absolutely not.”

Now, I take you as a man of your word, but I would point out you have a couple of owners that have performed lyrics in songs that are far more offensive. In fact I don’t think that anything Rush Limbaugh said was offensive.

But, with Fergie and with J.Lo, they have between the two of them, alleged that the CIA are terrorists and liars, they’ve promoted sexual abuse of women, they’ve used the N-word, verbal pornography, recreational drug use, etc., and they are owners of the Dolphins. And it’s also ironic that Fergie was approved as an owner on the very day that you made your statement against Rush Limbaugh.Confused Confused Shame on you

So, if you’re concerned about this, Mr. Goodell, then I’d ask you are you prepared to level the same charges against Fergie and J-Lo, or are you prepared to apologize to Rush Limbaugh today?

He also brought to Goodell’s attention the fact that the quotes used against Rush during the “debate” over whether or not it was a good idea for him to be an NFL team owner were fabricated.

Goodell’s response:
Not surprisingly, Goodell had no worthwhile response for the Congressman. Quite the contrary, he told King, “I’m not shining any kind of a light on Rush Limbaugh here. I’m not an expert on his, on all of his quotes.”

Then how did he conclude Limbaugh didn’t warrant ownership? On exactly what did he base his decision that Limbaugh had made “divisive comments?”

As no logical answer appeared forthcoming, King said he would provide Goodell with details about Fergie and J-Lo’s offensive lyrics, and asked the Commissioner to come back and address them.

Lame-o, shame-o.

Wrong again ninagay.....I put NO ONE on a pedestal...... not even your messiah "O".
"But, with Fergie and with J.Lo, they have between the two of them, alleged that the CIA are terrorists and liars, they’ve promoted sexual abuse of women, they’ve used the N-word, verbal pornography, recreational drug use, etc., and they are owners of the Dolphins. What's good enough for Fergie and J.LO.......should be good enough for everyone else.

When the people are afraid of the government, that's TYRANNY.

Hart,Please take care in your use of the word Messiah.Better to keep a revered name out of the political use and fray. Please re-consider.

I never said Rush was not qualified to own any team. Please note that.
I don't like him personally, don't watch many sports in general, and care less what 'Fergie' or 'J Lo' have to say about anything.
The fact that I do not feel Rush qualified for anything is not shared by many on this forum.

None you listed above is my type to immulate or copy; in word, deed, nor wealth.lol.

I do not know YOUR sources, have never read the dirty talk you post accredited to them.

Sorry I missed this post.

No, I did not comment on Kitty Kelley, because I know next to nothing about her. I have never read any book from her. If I ever heard or saw her on radio or TV, I do not recall.

The most I have ever heard about Kitty Kelley is just other people commenting on her and her books.

I used to listen to Rush every day, and now listen to him about half of the time he is on the air. On Rush I am very well informed.

I find it appalling that many of the people who do post about Rush do not even know what time or what radio station in their neighborhood, that he broadcasts on.

I don't post or talk about things or people that I have no personal knowledge of.
