I guess I'm gonna miss out - but not really... There are no Denny's anywhere in Chicago but we have lots of mom & pop diners with food that actually has flavor and rich robust coffee. Not any of that crap Denny's sells.
Hope y'all enjoy your free breakfast. I'll be at my favorite neighborhood diner enjoying a 'home-cooked' meal. EDIT: Just because the Denny's breakfast is free doesn't mean you don't have to tip the server. They aren't volunteering their time - they've got bills to pay just like everybody else... Sometimes I feel like I'm diagonally parked in a parallel universe.

Any time you are getting any special bargain, like using a coupon, your tip should be computed, based on what the price would have been, without the coupon. In general, a tip should be an absolute minimum of $2.00 per person.
Many do not know that all restaurants with table service have some system for taking a good chuck of cash from your server and giving it to people you might never see, including the salad and desert people who fix all of the cold food, a person in the kitchen who double checks that everything is right on your plate (sometimes called something like the 'expo' person), the hostess, the bus-person, and the bartender (even if you do NOT order any alcoholic drinks).
Even if you leave NO tip, your server must pay these people a percentage of your total bill, usually 3 to 6%... So if you refuse to tip, your server actually is taking you as a 'charity case' and paying money out of his or her pocket to cover part of your bill.
Well, doesn't your server get minimum wage???
NO!!!
For anyone who normally receives tips, there is a unique minimum wage, pegged to HALF of the minimum wage, but your server must still earn the difference in tips. So if your server does not make enough in tips to pay out those other people, and still have tip money left over to make up the 'other half' of the minimum wage... She or he will be fired!

I can't imagine anyone getting a free meal and not tipping. That's just to cheap. I usually tip close to the cost of the meal if I get it free.
