Nic - I will confess, I did not write those words in that post- I found that article on the internet. Accept for some words, I would not have used- the article is truthful. I really would like you to show me those errors. Then when you're done, I'd like you to review Firebirds posts to us-- how she does not answer questions, rebuts even facts, bible verses and when we TRY to answer her way, she still keeps it up and calls us out on them.

I have tried but now I'm showing her errors instead. As you say: what good for the goose is good for the gander. May Christ work it out somehow!!

Nic - what really bothers you-- Is it that some of us show the faults of manmade religions? Is it that you like your gentle spirit you're use to being the religion you are? If we don't show those of different religions what the Bible says, what kind of Christians would we be? Why don't you react to the posts of a fellow RC, who is constantly calling others names, being so arrogant to say she has the Church of Jesus Christ, giving everyone the Bible-- those are incorrect statements. We've tried to point it out with Scripture and the History that has been passed down. WE are not perfect but we've had enough of her rants and unChristian behavior.

(YAYY....GO XIANS!!!)-- I hope that X really meant Christ but you forgot to say that.

THE BOOK OF ALMA

THE SON OF ALMA

CHAPTER 25

Lamanite aggressions spread—The seed of the priests of Noah perish as Abinadi prophesied—Many Lamanites are converted and join the people of Anti-Nephi-Lehi—They believe in Christ and keep the law of Moses. Between 90 and 77 B.C.

1 And behold, now it came to pass that those Lamanites were more angry because they had slain their brethren; therefore they swore vengeance upon the Nephites; and they did no more attempt to slay the people of Anti-Nephi-Lehi at that time.
2 But they took their armies and went over into the borders of the land of Zarahemla, and fell upon the people who were in the land of Ammonihah and destroyed them.
3 And after that, they had many battles with the Nephites, in the which they were driven and slain.
4 And among the Lamanites who were slain were almost all the seed of Amulon and his brethren, who were the priests of Noah, and they were slain by the hands of the Nephites;
5 And the remainder, having fled into the east wilderness, and having usurped the power and authority over the Lamanites, caused that many of the Lamanites should perish by fire because of their belief—
6 For many of them, after having suffered much loss and so many afflictions, began to be stirred up in remembrance of the words which Aaron and his brethren had preached to them in their land; therefore they began to disbelieve the traditions of their fathers, and to believe in the Lord, and that he gave great power unto the Nephites; and thus there were many of them converted in the wilderness.
7 And it came to pass that those rulers who were the remnant of the children of Amulon caused that they should be put to death, yea, all those that believed in these things.
8 Now this martyrdom caused that many of their brethren should be stirred up to anger; and there began to be contention in the wilderness; and the Lamanites began to hunt the seed of Amulon and his brethren and began to slay them; and they fled into the east wilderness.
9 And behold they are hunted at this day by the Lamanites. Thus the words of Abinadi were brought to pass, which he said concerning the seed of the priests who caused that he should suffer death by fire.
10 For he said unto them: What ye shall do unto me shall be a type of things to come.
11 And now Abinadi was the first that suffered death by fire because of his belief in God; now this is what he meant, that many should suffer death by fire, according as he had suffered.
12 And he said unto the priests of Noah that their seed should cause many to be put to death, in the like manner as he was, and that they should be scattered abroad and slain, even as a sheep having no shepherd is driven and slain by wild beasts; and now behold, these words were verified, for they were driven by the Lamanites, and they were hunted, and they were smitten.
13 And it came to pass that when the Lamanites saw that they could not overpower the Nephites they returned again to their own land; and many of them came over to dwell in the land of Ishmael and the land of Nephi, and did join themselves to the people of God, who were the people of Anti-Nephi-Lehi.
14 And they did also bury their weapons of war, according as their brethren had, and they began to be a righteous people; and they did walk in the ways of the Lord, and did observe to keep his commandments and his statutes.
15 Yea, and they did keep the law of Moses; for it was expedient that they should keep the law of Moses as yet, for it was not all fulfilled. But notwithstanding the law of Moses, they did look forward to the coming of Christ, considering that the law of Moses was a type of his coming, and believing that they must keep those outward performances until the time that he should be revealed unto them.
16 Now they did not suppose that salvation came by the law of Moses; but the law of Moses did serve to strengthen their faith in Christ; and thus they did retain a hope through faith, unto eternal salvation, relying upon the spirit of prophecy, which spake of those things to come.
17 And now behold, Ammon, and Aaron, and Omner, and Himni, and their brethren did rejoice exceedingly, for the success which they had had among the Lamanites, seeing that the Lord had granted unto them according to their prayers, and that he had also verified his word unto them in every particular.

Religious Corner: grATTITUDE!

I'm grateful for a friend of mine, Cathi. Constantly with God on the mind. We even call her "GG" for "God Girl" becuase that was her label by her friends. God has been a BIG part of her life and still is to this day. This chick has been through hell and I still have yet to injest the rest of her story, but that is her business to share I dont drag it out. I have, however, come to the understanding that God DOES definitely work in her.

She said something to me that really struck a nerve. She's not happy dating Christian men or hanging around most Christian women. I will digress a second: XIAN men and women. There IS a difference.

They ARE snobby. They are the most self-righteous people she has ever met and it's no wonder no one wants to talk to them. When a Genuine CHRISTian wants to befriend someone They get turned away from it due to that fact.

You see, back in the 90's I remember a great "Born Again" movement. So many people wanted to hear about God. (and who wouldn't really if it's really GOD). Everyone listened to the soul-yanking music and raised up their hands and bawled like little bitches. And came out of it feeling light as a feather.

I equate this moment to someone who had sex before they were married to someone they loved. You know. That regrettable time in your young stupid years, when you did something you wished you saved yourself for someone you were meant to be with? You're right there in bed with the one you are married to and wishing that you could "become one" with them with clean slates? I'll move on.

I believe it was their faith and that Grace God bestows on us that lightened the load on our souls. Yes. But we forgot that when you are born...you have to learn all over again.

See, when we did that (yeah I was one of those dumb schmucks) you felt a sense of family in the room too. You didn't mind hugging your smelly neighbor (and she did) and you shared so much of your personal life that you wonder why this privacy act bs is even started.

When someone is (like a child....remember BORN again) hurt they get disillusioned. Then begins the spiritual cancer. Just like when a human is born here in the body. you get germs and you get sick.

Just like being a child in school your mind is a sponge...guess who you listen to. Hatefilled, critical Xians who want to fillyour brain telling you that (not the religious philosophy but) the other people are devils and not to be trusted. Decent poeple who DO follow GOd are included in that...remember it's a battle of spiritual wits not physical or mental.

Only a few survive and perservere and come to the wiser.

For some, it will hurt well after they see their loved one condemned. For others, its' a call to Love before it's too late.

It's not that you didn't love them. It was that you couldn't join them.

Only GOD is Judge.

GG knows this and not once did she let anyone know she was evangelizing to that they weren't good enough. Great words to quote her saying was

"God said: GIVE ME WHAT YOU GOT!!!"

I'm grateful for her friendship. God puts great friends in my life.

And for that. I am grateful.

I am throwing this out to see if any of you think it has any logic to it.

I have termites and in my interest because of it I have learned a few facts? and so I was thinking if this could possibly work.
First I bought the termidor stakes and they were warded off pretty until I needed more. The termite stakes are roughly 6to8 inches long. It said that termites don't go below that into the dirt, keep that in mind.

I also read that termites can't go through sand. They also can't be exposed to sunlight which is why they build tubes above ground. So here's what I am thinking. I was going to dig a 3 inch ditch around the house up against it's walls and pour termidor as directed but it is very caustic and in some states you need to be licensed and go through classes to apply it. Not to mention mixing in 5 gallon buckets and applying is messy and dangerous for an old lady like me.

Well, what if I dug a 6to8 inch trench around my house and fill the trench with sand, wouldn't that eliminate the termites from entering?
What am I missing here? can it be that easy?

Religious Corner: Catholic Truths and Myths

kspletzer wrote:
Jesus didn't talk to you nor give you His instructions that you are falsely teaching here. And it is just as well, since you can't handle the truth. Moreover, Jesus appointedhis Apostles and then to us, his saints to administer the saving ordinances, perfect the saints, call us to repentance and preach and teach ALL THAT HE TAUGHT. You have your limited Bible belief from your ancient stories forced on you by Popes and the ADDED books of your Bible. All Christ's teachings are in the Bible. Because telling the false truths is admitting you are Catholic. So inventing doctrines to cover the gaps in your beliefs, is part of your RCC practice. Getting ain touch with God might calm your ruffled feathers. For you have been quite high strung, disturbed, agitated, throwing tantrums, using the word HATE when you could have easily looked the word up in a Bible, don't be confused about what God said-- "Love thy neighbor".

Reality check- The RCC was forced on everyone-- it was the Church of the Government and if you did not obey you were killed. And many were in the Crusades.

Reality Check- People could not read, plus the Bible was in Greek/Hebrew-- so the RCC sais we will tell you what it says- Don't worry. Plus we will also give you many doctrines and sacrements that you will have to follow. So you don't need a Bible.

Reality check- it was till there were a printing press, and men who took the Bible and put into the language of the people-- that the people found out what it really said. Many Bibles were burned and the people killed for owning them. Fortunately there were brave men who held secret prayer meetings with the Bibles they kept-- God's word lived on.

Your Church has done many hurtful things to people and you are leading many to Hell. It's not too late to repent and come back to God and his Word.

This is false, hateful remarks. Have you ever spent time in a Catholic church? Have you ever been friends with Catholic people and asked them about their faith? Have you ever spent time in our CCD's or RCIA (Right of Christian Initiation for Adults-it's like SUnday school for adults).

I hear baptists and even the ladies from First Alliance -a Protestant group!- say "The Lord spoke to me" many times. WHO are YOU to say that Jesus didn't speak to anyone else that is not of your faith.....including a Catholic? What? Jealous, you havn't heard anything?

The past has past. yet we still bring up the old political times of mideval church history. yet we get chastized for bringing up baptists and other protestants that have committed heinous crimes and hurtful acts towards others and you and David are quick to tut tut that. How do you know that people in the Catholic church DONT talk to Jesus and ask for forgiveness??? YOU DONT. How do you know that leaders in the Catholic church havn't asked for forgiveness for their past wrongdoings? YOU CAN'T. WHY are we beating a dead horse? WE CAN???? That's stupid.

How can you call us devil worshippers (and you did, dont lie. You may not have used those exact words but you did) and yet you say you admire poeple like Mother Theresa with her charity work. Guess where she got inspired to DO that charity: GOD.....NOT THE DEVIL!!!

Lots of conflicting issues here. Like these redundantly retarded postings that do no good but to start a stupid war amongst ((gulp)) Christians.

(David. Remember how you were upset with me saying crap and Jesus in the same sentence? NOW I get it. Thank you)

You disagree with us. Wa. Guess what. We're forgiven. Just like You. and until you get to know someone or research catholicism better, please refrain from referring to us as devil worshippers and liars. Thank you.

Political Corner: Information on Medicare's Payments to Physicians and the Budgetary Effects of H.R. 3961, the Medicar

Information on Medicare's Payments to Physicians and the Budgetary Effects of H.R. 3961, the Medicare Physicians Payment Reform Act of 2009

Changes in Medicare’s Payments to Physicians

CBO just released a letter responding to questions from Congressman Ryan about H.R. 3961, the Medicare Physicians Payment Reform Act of 2009, which is scheduled to be considered by the House of Representatives today. Congressman Ryan inquired about the total budgetary impact of enacting that bill, which would increase the rates Medicare pays to physicians, along with H.R. 3962, the Affordable Health Care for America Act, the broad health care reform bill passed by the House of Representatives a few weeks ago.

H.R. 3961 would change payment rates and restructure the sustainable growth rate (SGR), the formula that determines the updates to payment rates for fee-for-service physicians’ services in Medicare. Under current law, those payment rates are scheduled to be reduced by about 21 percent in January 2010, and CBO estimates that the rates will be reduced by about 2 percent annually for several subsequent years. H.R. 3961 would increase those payment rates by 1.2 percent in 2010 and implement a new formula beginning in 2011. Those changes would result in significantly higher payment rates for physicians than those that would result under current law.

CBO estimates that enacting H.R. 3961, by itself, would cost $210 billion over the 2010–2019 period. CBO and the staff of the Joint Committee on Taxation have separately estimated that enacting H.R. 3962 would reduce federal budget deficits by $109 billion over that same period.

CBO estimates that enacting both bills would add $89 billion to budget deficits over the 2010–2019 period, somewhat less than the sum of the effects of enacting the bills separately because of interactions between their provisions. The agency estimates that the two bills together would increase the budget deficit in 2019 by $23 billion relative to current law, an increment that would grow in subsequent years.

A detailed year-by-year projection for the following decade, like those that CBO prepares for the 10-year budget window, would not be meaningful because the uncertainties involved are simply too great. CBO has therefore developed a rough outlook for that decade. As stated in its October 29, 2009, letter to Congressman Charles B. Rangel, “CBO expects that [H.R. 3962] would slightly reduce federal budget deficits in that decade relative to those projected under current law—with a total effect during that decade that is in a broad range between zero and one-quarter percent of GDP [gross domestic product].” If both H.R. 3961 and H.R. 3962 were enacted, CBO expects that federal budget deficits during the decade following the 10-year budget window would increase relative to those projected under current law—with a total effect during that decade that is in a broad range between zero and one-quarter percent of GDP.

God’s Simple Plan of Salvation--(JUST TO REMIND YOU-- THESE DO NOT SAY YOU MUST BE A CERTAIN RELIGION OR DENOMINATION -- JUST BELIEVE!!!!)
by Pastor Ford Porter

My Friend: I am asking you the most important question of life. Your joy or your sorrow for all eternity depends upon your answer. The question is: Are you saved? It is not a question of how good you are, nor if you are a church member, but are you saved? Are you sure you will go to Heaven when you die?

God says in order to go to Heaven, you must be born again. In John 3:7, Jesus said to Nicodemus, “Ye must be born again.”

In the Bible God gives us the plan of how to be born again which means to be saved. His plan is simple! You can be saved today. How?

First, my friend, you must realize you are a sinner. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

Because you are a sinner, you are condemned to death. “For the wages [payment] of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). This includes eternal separation from God in Hell.

“ . . . it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27).

But God loved you so much He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus, to bear your sin and die in your place. “ . . . He hath made Him [Jesus, Who knew no sin] to be sin for us . . . that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Corinthians 5:21).

Jesus had to shed His blood and die. “For the life of the flesh is in the blood” (Lev. 17:11). “ . . . without shedding of blood is no remission [pardon]” (Hebrews 9:22).

“ . . . God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).

Although we cannot understand how, God said my sins and your sins were laid upon Jesus and He died in our place. He became our substitute. It is true. God cannot lie.

My friend, “God . . . commandeth all men everywhere to repent” (Acts 17:30). This repentance is a change of mind that agrees with God that one is a sinner, and also agrees with what Jesus did for us on the Cross.

In Acts 16:30-31, the Philippian jailer asked Paul and Silas: “ . . . ‘Sirs, what must I do to be saved?’ And they said, ‘Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved . . . .’ ”

Simply believe on Him as the one who bore your sin, died in your place, was buried, and whom God resurrected. His resurrection powerfully assures that the believer can claim everlasting life when Jesus is received as Savior.

“But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name” (John 1:12).

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13).

Whosoever includes you. Shall be saved means not maybe, nor can, but shall be saved.

Surely, you realize you are a sinner. Right now, wherever you are, repenting, lift your heart to God in prayer.

In Luke 18:13, the sinner prayed: “God be merciful to me a sinner.” Just pray: “Oh God, I know I am a sinner. I believe Jesus was my substitute when He died on the Cross. I believe His shed blood, death, burial, and resurrection were for me. I now receive Him as my Savior. I thank You for the forgiveness of my sins, the gift of salvation and everlasting life, because of Your merciful grace. Amen.”

Just take God at His word and claim His salvation by faith. Believe, and you will be saved. No church, no lodge, no good works can save you. Remember, God does the saving. All of it!

God’s simple plan of salvation is: You are a sinner. Therefore, unless you believe on Jesus Who died in your place, you will spend eternity in Hell. If you believe on Him as your crucified, buried, and risen Savior, you receive forgiveness for all of your sins and His gift of eternal salvation by faith.

You say, “Surely, it cannot be that simple.” Yes, that simple! It is scriptural. It is God’s plan. My friend, believe on Jesus and receive Him as Savior today.

If His plan is not perfectly clear, read this tract over and over, without laying it down, until you understand it. Your soul is worth more than all the world.

“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:36).

Be sure you are saved. If you lose your soul, you miss Heaven and lose all. Please! Let God save you this very moment.

God’s power will save you, keep you saved, and enable you to live a victorious Christian life. “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, Who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it” (1 Corinthians 10:13).

Do not trust your feelings. They change. Stand on God’s promises. They never change. After you are saved, there are three things to practice daily for spiritual growth:

Pray -- you talk to God.
Read your Bible -- God talks to you.
Witness -- you talk for God.
AFTER you are saved, you should be baptized in obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ as a public testimony of your salvation, and then unite with a Bible-believing church without delay. “Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord . . . .” (2 Timothy 1:8).

Please note that you DON'T have to be baptized to go to Heaven. It is a step of obedience for the believer.

“Whosoever therefore shall confess [testify of] Me before men, him will I confess also before My Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 10:32).

GROW UP PEOPLE? You actually said that? Hey Aggie, take a good look in some nearby mirror. You are supposed to be a grown up aren't you? As an adult who is being paid to do a job by the taxpayers how can you possibly make that comment when you are constantly wasting our money by reading and posting on forums (here, there and probably everywhere)...?

As a working adult in this country, where did you ever get the notion that it is OK to waste your employers time and use equipment for your own purposes?

You are getting paid to do a job.
Reading and posting on forums is not the job we are paying you to do!
Believing that it is OK for you to spend your work time doing whatever you want is not acceptable adult behavior.

Follow your own advise and GROW UP AGGIE!

Just go ahead and help yourself to any or all of my statement for whatever use you have in mind. No need to fear the law in any way.
