ISP Information:

A standard for client/server transmission of e-mail. An e-mail server holds the e-mail, and you use a POP3 client to fetch the mail from a server. IMAP is a newer e-mail client/server protocol with more options.
ISP Glossary:

POP3 - francisardi@yahoo.com (Francis M) wrote in messagenews:... A while back I have ordered an Automatic Hits Machine and it turned out to be software that automatically accesses from a whole list of traffic exchange sites. It got me a lot of hits at first but later lost its effectiveness and has not returned me one penny of investment. Thank goodness that the price was only $29.00. Recently I got more UCE (actually newsletter subscriber mail) about a "My Traffic Machine" which used the same copy (as I remember) with a few twists. It did not tell me where the Hits come from or how it worked. This time the price was $197.00 (can you believe that?). I exited the page and got a pop up stating that for today only I could get the My Traffic Machine for only $99. (still high) I became curious and replied to the email asking if My Traffic Machine is the same thing as an Automatic Hits Machine? The only way I could think of an Automatic Hits Machine working if it automatically places banners, text ads, and ezine ads on numerous sites and newsletters in some huge database. Then I think such a "Machine" could be worth, maybe a hundred dollars. As of this day I received no reply to my query, leading me to believe that the operator is a crook and an incompetent all rolled into one. My advice is: If you have any questions about some miracle-performing gadgetry set in front of you with all kids of claims, email the sender your request for more details. If you don't get an answer, DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THEM! Francis M.Hello,Yes, you are correct in your analysis. I have run across similar offers, and had much the same results. The only legitimate and worth while free hits come from hard work and manualhit exchanges. There are now a few paid and reasonablly priced hits or traffic venues; Two I can recommend from experience arewww.overture.com and www.kanoodle.comIf you want quality hits they are the way to go.VickieHead Lice Remedywww.vickiesremedies.com
