| ISP Information: The interface between a printer and a network that allows network clients to connect to the printer and send their print jobs to it. Print servers can be computers, separate hardware devices, or even hardware that resides inside of the printer itself. ISP Glossary: Print Server - Funny thing is this computer using the same modem works perfect at another location also with the same voicemal system. What should I be looking for wrt. the phone line at the other location (I assume the problem is thephone line). I have tried the modem with all phones disconnected from the lines, so only using the modem. There is *NO* ADSL on this line. It is a residential building with a standard phone line using the tone dialling system. I now have another modem at this location (Conceptronic 56PM)which seems to be working well. Don't know if it's a Winmodem or not.Forgot to mention that the modem (56PM) which is working at the problemlocation is in another computer. Same modem which caused the lines to godown but which initially worked. If there is a problem with the modem can Icheck that with a multimeter on the phone line? I have checked at home withthe problem computer and get normal voltages on the line when modem isconnected (>48 Volts) and about 8.4 when the modem is in use (same as whenmaking a voice conversation). |
