FreeBSD - You are dropping the "AT", aren't you? It shouldn't be needed (DUN willsupply one).--Hooda Gest"The only thing I do immediately is procrastinate.""foobar" wrote in messagenews:s16bgv4mepl0mqbvdvd2ib9k77769lgsuk@4ax.com... Thanks, I'll take that shorter version - though it's still to long to fit in the original config window. :-) On Fri, 04 Jul 2003 13:07:31 GMT, "Hooda Gest" wrote:"foobar" wrote in messagenews:s77agv4n50mfmro344u4jmd7nmp9mu3c8d@4ax.com... Sure! It's a Creative De5621 V.92. w/ a conexant chipset. For some reason they have a flash for Win2K specifically and I installed that (not sure that was a good idea or not). I use the creative drivers, not windows (I wonder who teh real maker of this modem is?) The model is about a year old or so, still available currently retail and presently set up in a w2kpro system. I dial 4 different ISPs thru it. None are V.92 of course. I have call waiting and like to have interruptions in my connection for incoming calls. (well I don't like to but you know what I mean since I only have a single phone line) Here's the string I'm currently using... AT+MS=V90,1,2400,33600,40000,48000;+PCW=1;S11=55;S10=60The S10=60 reduces the chances of the modem disconnecting on an incomingcall. You can drop the "1" and the "33600". Not sure why you are worried aboutthe"2400" unless you get some really poor V.34 rates. And the semi-colonbetween the two S reg settings isn't needed. So, it could be changed to:AT+MS=V90,,,,40000,48000;+PCW=1;S11=55S10=60 It would originally only take about 20 or so chars. Now that I put the string (above) directly in the registry - it seems to allow me put in longer strings or edit them or something. Then again, maybe it was a service pack (this is a new system install upgrade for me)Well, as long as you are ok with sticking the commands in the registry, andit's working for you, stick with what you have.
