This abbreviation refers to any operation in a computer where data is transferred in or out of the computer. I/O may seem like a vague concept, but it refers to the basic power of a computer to communicate with the world outside of the box. ISP Glossary:
Input/Output - No, it is linked to a link of credit which is used when thebalance in my checking account hits $zero. Some banks (includingCitibank) can link a savings account and automatically draw fromit if you bounce a check, but I read an article a few months agosaying how they were charging comparable charges to bouncedcheck fees for using it, and how they were ripping customers offafter encouraging them to use it.BillTodd Copeland wrote: Sounds like your overdraft protection might be linked to a charge card from CitiBank. Most banks offer a "back-up" account for overdraft protection. But if your like me, all my money goes into my checking account. When it's gone... I have nothing else. Would not make sense to keep some of it in a savings account as back-up. Just another joy of living paycheck to paycheck (though, some of my check does go into my 401K. Much better return then a savings account). "Bill Rubin" wrote in message news:402E8A84.E87C67EA@prodigy.net... They are retired. They recently made an error forgetting to deduct a $80.00 check from their balance in their checkbook. They also had forgotten to make a sizeable deposit one day, but that was not the problem, however, they always carried a large balance in their account before what happened to them. I'm sorry this happened to your friend but I don't understand why everyone doesn't have some sort of overdraft protection on their checking accounts? I'm not sure what the charge is for using it (at Citibank, they only charge me the interest from the time it gets used until I pay it back, which I typically do as soon as I see it's been used) but it has to be a better deal than the hassle of a bounced check fee.
