flame - The fine print looks the same as other legit rebate checks I'vegotten. "Positive I.D. required. Issued without recourse by thedrawer as absolute payment of any and all underlying obligations.Failure to cash before date printed on the face of this Rebate Checkvoids all obligations and transfers all rights or proceeds to thedrawer. Third party endorsement prohibited."I've changed addresses, so I'm not as worried about the vortex of massmailing, but I certainly don't want my phone service hijacked or somesuch. Thanks for your help.-Susan"Kim" wrote in message news:<1022onmd5bllf3d@corp.supernews.com>... Don't cash it...it will either enroll you into something you don't want or suck you into their vortex of mass mailing. Check the back where you endorse it and read the fine print. "Susan H. Cook" wrote in message news:adf75ce5.0402041303.4c23ec1a@posting.google.com... I received a rebate check for $15 with no company name on the check. I have several outstanding rebates, so it's possible that this one is legitimate. However, I tracked down through the address on the mailer that the check originated from Continental Promotions Group on behalf of Mass Marketing Insurance Group. I don't recognize either name. Should I cash the check or is this some nefarious attempt to get me enrolled in some program and/or get my bank information? CPG has an average rating from the BBB, but MMIG is not listed there.
