ISP Information:
Cables that consist of pairs of unshielded wire twisted together. These cables are used for data and telephone networks. They are cheap to produce because they are unshielded, and they get their shielding by being twisted together in pairs. ISP Glossary:
Unshielded Twisted Pair - OK, as previous thread, I believe my modem is now an USR OEM 2977.Works great with XP Pro SP1, connects fast. But every once in awhile, while connected, it still "looks" connected, butjust stops transfering data. I close out the connection, call back, noproblems. Is VERY rare, so Im not too concerned with it. Just wondered if itwas a known bug, with a "fix". Most days (99.9% of the time) it neverhappens. It doesnt seem to be an error count thing. And, I dont have anyinactivity timeout settings turned on, as when it happens, I am currentlysurfing.Same stats below...Configuration Profile...Product type US/Canada InternalProduct ID: 66297700Options V32bis,V.80,V.34+,x2,V.90Fax Options Class 1/Class 2.0Line Options Caller ID, Distinctive RingClock Freq 92.0MhzEPROM 256kRAM 32kFLASH date 7/15/99FLASH rev 5.19.1DSP date 7/15/99DSP rev 5.19.1OKU.S. Robotics 56K FAX INT Link Diagnostics...Chars sent 56494 Chars Received 304097Chars lost 0Octets sent 27355Blocks sent 775 Blocks Received 1981Blocks resent 4Retrains Requested 0 Retrains Granted 0Line Reversals 0 Blers 1Link Timeouts 0 Link Naks 1Data Compression V42BIS 2048/32Equalization LongFallback EnabledProtocol LAPM/SREJSpeed 50666/26400V.90 Peak Speed 50666Last Call 00:05:52Disconnect Reason is DTR droppedOKU.S. Robotics 56K FAX INT Link Diagnostics...Modulation V.90Carrier Freq (Hz) None/1920Symbol Rate 8000/3200Trellis Code None/64S-4DNonlinear Encoding None/ONPrecoding None/ONShaping ON/ONPreemphasis (-dB) 4/10Recv/Xmit Level (-dBm) 25/12Near Echo Loss (dB) 0Far Echo Loss (dB) 0Carrier Offset (Hz)Round Trip Delay (msec) 13Timing Offset (ppm) 3806SNR (dB) 49.0Speed Shifts Up/Down 0/0Status : uu,5,12N,12.3,-15,0N,0,48.7,14.6OKFreq Level (dB)150 26300 25450 25600 25750 25900 251050 261200 261350 271500 271650 281800 281950 282100 292250 302400 302550 302700 312850 313000 323150 323300 333450 343600 373750 41OK
