Hosts - "bat" wrote in messagenews:nA7%c.14784$Y94.3788@newssvr33.news.prodigy.com... Hello: here's a scenario. Product X is under manufacturer's warranty. It gets broken (just one component, easily replaceable), and the manufacturersends out a replacement part. The part turns out to be defective. However, atthe time it's discovered, the warranty has already ended, and the manufacturer refuses to send another replacement. I wonder, if anyone experienced this scenario, and if so, how was it resolved. This question is based on the following response I received today fromIntel: "Even when the problem appeared in one of our replacements, the warranty period is limited by the date of purchase of the original product."Yes, but the original warranty was _not_ honored in that the defective partwas not replaced. What is implied by the contract is that the replacementpart will operate as it was intended.
