This button is intended to print whatever is on your screen. If you are using DOS, or you are in your BIOS and have a printer set up, the Print Screen button should do just that. In Windows OSes,hitting the Print Screen button will copy your current desktop so that you can paste it into a graphics program, or a program that will support graphics, such as many word processors today.
