The variables include:- Line conditions, including indoor wiring, devices hooked up to theline and telco line quality.- ISP modem compatibility with your modem.- Computer hardware, including modem chipsets and modem firmware andcomputer software.Anyhow, connection speed isn't as important as throughput. You mayhave a situation where you get better throughput at 28.8 or 26.4 than33.6 because the connection may be retraining/adjusting to maintaindata flow with the higher initial connect.Gary E|Gary A.
