ISP Information:
A type of network attack that attempts to render a network or Internet resource useless to users, typically by sending large amounts of repeated requests for data. The target may be e-mail services or an IRC server, or it could be access to a particular website. The methods of attack vary, but the end result is that a resource is artificially slowed down or unavailable to legitimate users. ISP Glossary:
Denial of Service - Srgnt Bilko wrote: I was seduced into getting a Target credit card last year. I occassionally use it and pay it off completely when it is due. Due date has been regularly on the 16th - and I've been stopping by the store on the 15th or 16th to pay it off. Last month I paid it on the 15th only to notice their due date changed to the 14th. This month they tacked on a $29 late fee. I called and complained and they quickly said they would credit my account wit $14 (about 1/2 the fee). I said thank you very much - please do that and then I will cancel the card. This was followed by them trying to persuade me not to cancel - and then offerring to switch me to someone who could cancel the card on the phone. I resisted but they convinced me so I went along. The transfer took place and the #2 gal quickly offered to credit my account with the whole $29 fee. No particular point here - just sharing experience.Sharing what experience? That it's stupid to not look at the duedate on your bill? I would never assume that the due date wasthe same from month to month. At minimum remember that if youhave a certain number of days to pay the bill after the closingdate, then in a month with 31 days (like May) the due date willbe a day earlier the following month.
