An extension to the ATA interface (IDE) proposed by Quantum that effectively doubles the data transfer speed of the Ultra ATA/33 interface to 66MBps. San Pedro is within the Los Angeles City limits. But it is cut off by the city of Long Beach to the north-west, and by unincorporated areas of LA county to the east. That is not entirely correct. San Pedro is connected to the larger "mass"of Los Angeles by what is referred to as the city strip. Its officialcommunity name is Harbor Gateway. Starting from El Segundo Blvd, the citystrip is basically a strip of Los Angeles bounded by Vermont and Figueroa. In some areas, the western boundary extends to Normandie or Western Ave, andthe eastern boundary to Main or the Harbor Freeway. While actually LosAngeles, the areas paralleling Gardena and Torrance use their zipcodes.Torrance 90502 is almost entirely the city of Los Angeles.
