ISP Information:
G.Lite is a form of ADSL that does not require a splitter to separate voice and Internet traffic. It can operate at speeds of up to 1.5Mbps (like a T1) downstream, with upstream rates of 128Mbps. G.Lite was designed to be a more easily implementable form of ADSL so that the install is minimal for consumers. ISP Glossary:
G.Lite - By law they cannot refuse. Next time they call you, act interested in buy 10of whatever they are selling. Once the person starts going for your ploy, simple ask for their full name and supervisors name so you can point out howhelpfull they have been. At that point state the following, " Please put meon your 'do not call' list". It needs to be worded that way. They will needto comply, as long as you have not done business with them before. Mentionthat you will note the date and time that you spoke to be used in court ifthey call again. If you really want to be a pain in their side, you can alsorequest that they mail you a copy of their "do not call" policy. They willneed to comply with this as well. You can alway follow up with the person'ssupervisor if you don't get it.Truth is, there is little reason for these companies to keep calling peoplewho request not to be called. It's not like it's productive for them at thatpoint as the person is not going to buy anything from a company that justbothers them. Like me and all the Sat. TV places that call my home."Steven" wrote in messagenews:ijt9kvo984om8e7u2dedapqh54g38tu3rc@4ax.com... Great ideas...however...and the reason I don't bother to ask them to add me to their "do not call" list is because of what happened recently...they refuse to do so! And the calls continue....
