The standard that came after CGA and before VGA. It allowed resolutions up to 640x350 pixels and 16 colors from a palette of 64. It was soon replaced by VGA. EGA images look squished because the aspect ratio of 640x350 is not flattering compared to the more standard 640x480 resolution of VGA that corresponded exactly to the 4:3 aspect ratio of most computer monitors. Itis a simple matter of which part of a telephone connection isused, and what that part should be expected to have for a SNR.have one standard for V34, another for V90 and then seperatestandards for different chipsets,(rckwl/cnxt, usr/ti,lucent/agrere, etc).A few diagrams might help make clear what is happening. (I'd be happy to explain why it is 37 dB rather thansome other number, but it is complex and would require anarticle twice the size of this one.)Many thanks for the excellent dissertation in your post. As to the abovepara .. if you have both the time and the inclination I for one would bemost interested in learning why 37 dB is the magic number as complexas the explanation may be.RegardsDon BlackNet-Tamer V 1.12.0
