ISP Information:
A tape format initially introduced in 1996. AIT promises low tape tension for longer tape life, very clean tape media, and high capacity and transfer rates. The AIT-1 specification offers 35 GB of native storage per tape and 3MB/second transfer rates; the AIT-2 standard offers 50 GB of native storage with transfer rates of 6MB/second; and AIT-3 boosts that up to 100 GB and 12MB/second. Each AIT tape contains a small memo ISP Glossary:
Advanced Intelligent Tape - First I'd call back and ask to speak to a supervisor. If they still give youa hard time, ask them what _time_ your service started. They won't be ableto tell you this. So just tell them that your service started _after_ thetime that you cancelled, so you were not using the next months service.BTW - they do pro-rate bills as they did this with me when I switch from DSLto cable. I needed to set up a whole new account as their system would notallow two highspeed accounts for the same phone number (household)."L. Z" wrote in messagenews:bfiFc.89$4R2.7@newssvr31.news.prodigy.com... I ordered EarthLink DSL for a year's contract on May 25th last year I got bill on 25th each month. In May I called costumer service and talked to a real person after waiting for one hour. They told me that my service started on June 6th, if you cancel it on 25th we will charge you $149.99 for early termination. So I ordered SBC DSL and I canceled it on June 6th, but they charge me $49.99 for June's service and I talk to the service person, they told me they don't prorate the charge, so I have to pay the whole month's service fee without using their service (I have used SBC DSL since June 6th). The thick is that you sign a year's contract, but no mater when you canceled it you need to pay 13 months' service fee. I don't know how many people know that. This company should earn money honestly, anyway I will never use this company's service again. Does anyone have any idea to deal with this kind of trick. Thanks
