An effort to provide different prioritization levels for different types of traffic over a network. Various methods are used to achieve quality of service, including the RSVP protocol. For example, streaming video may have a higher priority than ICMP traffic, as the consequences of interrupting streaming video are more obvious than slowing down ICMP traffic.

Quality of Service - Hello,I want to dial in the internet with my mobile Siemens M55 and my computerwith Windows 98. The driver for the modem (mobile phone) and the RAS-Entry(in German DF�-Netzwerk Eintrag) are allready there.When I try to dial in i got a connection but imeaditly there come themessage Remote modem hung up. After this message the log-file says that thecomputer resives some data from the modem, but the computer trys to hang upbecause it thinks that the remote modem hung up. When i connect to aprovider, that expects an manual log in via a TerminalWindow the situationis the same: The remote system send me strings like "** BadPasswordLogin:" but my computer thinks that the remote modemhung up.What is the problem?
