ISP Information:
A programming term describing a process that defers its operations as it runs, growing in memory size. Once all operations are deferred, there is a computation process that runs through the operations and figures out the values. If a recursive process is interrupted, there is not any easy way to recover it, as the operation is constructed on the fly with no fixed amount of variables. Contrast this to an iterative process ISP Glossary:
Recursive - I may be looking at a choice of going without a landline next month(long story). I'll be in Vaughan, Ontario, just north of the City ofToronto. If I go that route, I'd be looking for cellular POTS withvoicemail as the main option. No video games or texting featurestargetted at kids 1/3rd my age, thank you.Out of sheer curiousity, is there such an animal as a cellular phonethat allows you to plug in your computer's modem, and dial in to anISP? If so, what speeds are available? Note that I am *NOT* talkingabout an "internet enabled" cellphone. I do not have the patience, orthe 20/20 vision, to read/write email on a dinky little toy.Walter Dnes; my email address is *ALMOST* like wzaltdnes@waltdnes.orgDelete the "z" to get my real address. If that gets blocked, followthe instructions at the end of the 550 message.[TELECOM Digest Editor's Note: Our friend Mike Sandman has such adevice in his camper/RV/car to use with his laptop which is installedtherein. It looks just like a little PCMCIA card and it sticks in theslot on the side of the computer and has an antenna about like mylittle finger connected to one side of it. He got his from Sprint. Iam not sure, maybe Mike will describe it better. He did say to me itwas not terribly great, and I do not think the speed is much to bragabout either. He has a unlimited use package for $100 per month, andit can be used anywhere on the Sprint PCS network. So you might beable to use this in Canada. Write Mike for details and other specs.I do know it works like any laptop or desktop PC as far as I can tell.PAT]
