ISP Information:
A discontinuity in a SCSI bus. There are required lengths between stubs for the various SCSI standards. Each SCSI device counts as a stub. You can think of anything that's not a continuous SCSI cable as a stub. ISP Glossary:
Stub - On 22 Aug 2004 22:01:51 -0700, megalithic@rock.com (Megalithic) wrote:You throw in a few variables like having someone else returns thetruck when you're too busy, and they don't refuel the truck and youget stuck with the bullshit fees. Or, you have someone pick up thetruck because you're too busy and you don't get the fine print toread. Of course I'm sure you geniuses would have done it differentlyand I'm sure you pack your underwear individually in zip lock bags. You're still passing the buck. These "bullshit" fees are prettystandard in the rental industry and are listed in the contract andusually explained to you at the rental counter. Refuse the insuranceand they have you visually inspect the vehicle and note thepre-existing damage on the contract. A charge for not returning thevehicle with a full tank of gas seems like a no-brainer. If they don'thave a pump on site, they have to send out an employee with the truckto refill it to prep it for the next customer who may abide by thecontract and return it full. If they have a pump on-site, they'vegotta recoup the cost of having it installed, maintenance, anddelivery of fuel. The truth is, U-Haul acts like they're affordable, and yet they areprobably on the higher end of the truck rental companies in terms oftotal cost. The truth is, they don't maintain their equipment. Thetruth is, they are deceptive about rental fees. I've rented from thembefore and NEVER had to pay an extra $20. fee as a penalty to refuelthe truck. And I sure as hell never paid $.80 a mile.I'd agree that they don't maintain their equipment. Most of the trucksI've used for local moves have been beat to hell. But it got the jobdone. But they are cheaper than the rest of the companies. I wouldn'tattempt to take one cross country though.Back in my college days, I worked for a company that handled one ofthe truck rental's national reservations.. You wouldn't believe thestupid things people try and do with the trucks. A common one wastrying to move a car in a 17 foot truck which is not allowed per thecontract and voids any insurance you purchase. Ever wonder why thereare no trucks in an area that's about to be hit by a hurricane?Because they move them all out to prevent damage to the trucks.
