Invented by CompuServe for efficient transmission of graphics, this format can only support 256 colors, or 8 bits. The newer revision, 89a, allows for multiple images in one file to simulate animation. Unisys owns the patent to a form of compression used in GIF files and occasionally decides to demand licensing fees. Thus, you may want to use the newer and completely free PNG format instead of using GIF files.

Another is a 12 year old Sony XBRsquared. 3rd is a 13" stereo Toshiba tv with built in DVD. Best Buy andCircuit City say Monster Cable tv screen cleaning kit for 20 bucks isonly way to go. In the past we've used windex with ammonia sprayed onpaper towel. Toshiba says use Windex without ammonia. I can't getthrough to Sony.It's very confusing. What IS a good, safe way to clean a dusty tvscreen?
