It's funny just how much control one has over the TV when this little electronic device is used. Menus pop up, adjustments to tuning and channel are made, volume is a snap all while sitting several feet away. Perversely, that same level of control is not available if the remote breaks and you are forced to use the sets front panel. One of my daughters was mucking around with two of her friends one weekend and dropped the remote onto the tile. There was a metallic "snick" and the remote went dead. I've changed the batteries, popped open the remote (removing the little piece of wire that was providing the noise but did not reveal where on the little command board it had come from), and have been unsuccessful at reestablishing any signal-to-TV communication. The set is a Goldstar 13" cable-ready color. It's bare-bones in the bells-and-whistles dept. The model number is FS-185A. I've attempted to contact the manufacturer with no luck. Since the set /requires/ a remote to change key settings I need to find another remote. Any help or ideas, as always, are appreciated.
