wi-fi - The fact that Budget can get away with this is very frightening - is this an area where there is no consumer protection? Try contacting the CEO of Budget to discuss your problem. You might want to also say that you intend to hire legal representation to deal with their fraudulant claim and then perhaps sue them in small claims court.Hertz tried some similar bulshit with me when my car was hit by one of theirrental cars. They lied to me, then ignored me, then even went so far as tosend a letter meant to initimidate me, quoting me a section of law, alludingthat the accident was my fault and I could be prosecuted, even though it wasclearly the other parties' fault. They were just trying to drag it out withBS until the staute of limitations was expired. So I sued them in smallclaims for the damage to my car, and guess what...they never even showed up.So I won, sent them the judgement, and got a check in the mail from themright away. These corporate assholes just need to have their chains jerkedevery once in a while, because they really don't care, and will get awaywith whatever they can, because most people won't take the time, bother orexpense to fight them. If I were this gentleman, I'd see a lawyer to exploremy options. I never heard of an attorney who charged for an initialconsultation, and at least he'd have a realistic idea of what he can do.Chances are they would settle up as soon as a lawyer gets involved anyway, because they definitely don't want to get sued for fraud, negligence anddeliberate false credit reporting (if that's a litigable offense). Makes fornasty press, which costs them more money in bad PR than fixing a hundreddamaged cars.
