The first thingya gotta do is go beyond those people and get in the ear of someonewho actually has some authority... you won't get a damn thingtalking to the part-timer who mans the phones after school.I have previously worked for a Fortune 100 & 2 Fortune 500companies... and have seen, from the inside, how the call centersoperate. They definitely have road-blocks, with tiers of cust servreps. "Let me speak with your supervisor" just gets you to the nexttier... heck one simply transfered you to another rep on the sametier. These cust reps, no matter what level, will only listen toyou for so long before they'll give in and transfer you to someonehigher.Another obstacle is an outsourced call-center. No matter how highyou move up the ladder with them, you still aren't even talking toanyone with the actuall company. While not all, they are a lil bitbetter at staying on the line with you instead of moving you on...still, eventually you can get a number to someone that actually worksfor the company.They may not care, they may simply be saying to themselves "Just gethim off the phone", but either way... if you work the system, you*will* get results. Of course, you gotta go into the situationknowing what you want.... going in with your "it doesn't matter"philosophy will probably end up with moot results. I go in with theattitude that they actually do care, and eventually I 'l get someonethat does.I have always had good luck dealing with not only cell but cable (andsatellite) companies. On more than one occasion either my bill and/ormy service was less than satisfactory. When I called them, I toldthem what my problem was and what I thought would be equitablecompensation. In every instance that I can recall, I got what Iwanted.The key is to be reasonable, courteous and clear on what you want.
