ISP Information:
A 32-bit extension of a 16-bit ISA slot. This architecture predated PCI and allowed users to break the bottleneck that occurred when the ISA bus slowed down graphics speed. It allowed speeds of up to 40MHz, compared to ISA's measly 8.3MHz. The fact that it had twice as many pins to transmit data helped out as well. VL-Bus was big on 486-66 machines when it first came out, but was quickly displaced by PCI. PCI cards have ISP Glossary:

Why should it be? There is noincentive for them to make it one. Perhaps if someone does somethinglike a formal complaint to the BBB or some government agency - buteven then I wonder if it will be enough.Their packaging for the modems indicated that they would alwaysprovide a free upgrade to the latest standards. That's why thepromise remains on the v.92 page. Where they probably view their outis there may be no explicit promise on the packaging as to _when_ theywill provide the updates.Does someone have the packaging and manuals and can tell us what itexactly says? Perhaps someone would be willing to complain to theproper entity(ies) to get action.Gary E--|Gary A.
