ISP Information:
A processor instruction that can perform operations across multiple data instructions. So, instead of saying "Add A,B" several times to add two groups of numbers, you may say "Add Row A, Row B" or something to that effect. Instructions of this nature are often associated with 3D graphics and multimedia. ISP Glossary:
SIMD - Lou wrote: If you like to bargain, or haggle with the price of an item - forget about Bestbuy. You need printed proof from a local competitor. In addition, they will not match wholesale club prices , (Sam's, Costco, BJ's).Most stores do not pricematch wholesale clubs. BB is not unusualin that regard. And if someone else has it cheaper, why not justbuy it there? Why bother complaining about BB refusing to sellit to you for that price? Bestbuy is the King of Rebates, but a problem with them honoring a refund taught me a lesson. They indicated that I sent the wrong UPC symbol for a MAG computer monitor. Well, I sent every freakin UPC off the box - so much for the $50.00 rebate.Have you spoken to the store manager? I believe that people havehad success with BB rebates by getting the manager involved. Listing partial model numbers makes it hard to comparison shop, for instance Mitsubishi's Wide screen RPTV. There are several model lines for the 55" Widescreen which all look the same. (2002 - 2003), WS-55311, WS-55411, and WS-55511. The WS-55411, and WS-55511 have more features. Bestbuy conveniently left off the last 3 digits on the store displays, and, in the advertisments. (WS-55). After much investigation, I found out that the Bestbuy advertised WS-55 is actually the WS-55311 (the low-end model). So, you have a computer, you know the model number isincomplete, go look on their website. And you say later on thatthey have their own model numbers. Maybe this is a private modelnumber that's equivalent to the 55311? This made it appear that Bestbuy had a better deal on this Widescreen TV, being that most of the competition was selling the better quality WS-55411 at a higher price. I am shopping around now for the best price on the JVC 27" flat screen TV, model number AV-27F704. This is sold by Sam's club (the best price of $298.00), Sears, PC Richard, and all over the internet. It is currently out of stock in all those stores. This model number is listed on JVC's web site. When I went to Bestbuy they had the exact tv with a different model number AV-27F734. This is not listed on JVC's web site. I called the JVC service dept, and the customer rep said that AV-27F734 is the same as the AV-27F704, except that the remote is slightly different, AND, it is exclusive to Bestbuy. Now, Bestbuy does not have to worry about price matching being that no one else sells that model number. (I asked the sales rep about this discrepency, and he said the model numbers had to be exact - he chuckled and hung up - honest!) I wonder how many other items are made with exclusive model numbers. This is not unusual, Crazy Eddie and The Wiz (I use those sinceyou are obviously in the New York area) used to do it all thetime. You're probably going to find that that low end 27" TVsdon't typically get sold for the standard price and do not go onsale; I bought a 27" Panasonic a few months ago and it was thesame price all over.Bill
