ISP Information:
A secure means of transferring data using the HTTP protocol. Typically HTTP data is sent over TCP/IP port 80, but HTTPS data is sent over port 443. This standard was developed by Netscape for secure transactions, and uses 40-bit encryption ("weak" encryption) or 128-bit ("strong" encryption). If you are at a secure site, you will notice that there is a closed lock icon on the bottom area of your Navigator or IE browser. ISP Glossary:

I use to work for a market research company (not by choice but rather by necessary). Market research companies _do not_ sell anything and they commonly _pay_ people for nothing more then their opinions. Many of the "surveys" over the phone are to see if the person fit a certain marketthat the company wanted opinions from. How much did you pay each callee for this initial consultation? Except in extradinory cases, there are half-a-dozen or _less_ qualifying questions. A 'wrong answer' to any of them disqualifies you from further consideration. The qualifying questions are all 'matters of fact', not solicitations of opinion. And how much did you pay your victims for their time, for those half dozenquestions? The calls are usually 'up front and honest' about why they're calling.Of course they are. You're more likely to get people hanging up on you thatway, thus wasting less of your time with people who aren't going to bevictims anyway, and maximizing your profits. e.g., "Mr So-and-so, this is Ms. Blah-blah, of Somesuch Company, we're looking for participants for a focus group study, do you have the time to answer a few questions to see if you qualify?" "No" is a 'wrong answer' (obviously), and the call will terminate with an apology for the disruption, at that point. It should terminate with the victim pressing the * key on their phone, andputting 40,000 volts through the phone spammer's gentials. I used to particapate in such studies fairly regularly, Was an extra high three to low four figure income per year. *AND* my opinions were being *listened*to* by the 'decision makers' at the company sponsoring the research.Yeah. That's how we got New Coke. Listening to focus groups.--Larry Flynt for Governor!Bringing dignity back to the Governor's MansionTerry Austintaustin@hyperbooks.comhttp://www.hyperbooks.com/
