A video standard that allowed a resolution of 320x200 with a whopping four colors. It was replaced byEGA. You can get 16 colors on CGA if you go down to 160x100resolution. This is the first real graphics standard for IBM PC-compatible computers. ISP Glossary:
Computer Graphics Adapter - "Jonathan Adams" wrote in messagenews:bi0fot$iki$1@News.Dal.Ca... I have two 56k US Robotics Sportster v.90 x2 compatible modems that will connect at either 45333 or 49333. My Supra Express 33.6k v.42bis modem will connect at either 26400 or 28800. However, web pages seem like they are downloading faster than that. Since the Sportster modems connect at such high speeds, I cannot figure out why I'm not getting 33.6k out of the Supra modem. What gives?A couple of things first...1. Connect speed is simply that speed at which the modem *initially*connected. The modem often changes speed after initial connection and maychange it several times during the connection.2. V.90 (and other 56k protocols) function significantly differently thanV.34 does. You cannot compare the two and make any useful conclusions. Now, looking at post-call diagnostics can help you understand why throughputis better or worse in one instance or another. For post-call diagnostics, use AT&V1 for the Supra and ATI6I11 for the USRs. You will run thesecommands in a terminal program after disconecting from your ISP. They willshow you errors received, initial and final connect speeds, and speedchanges and/or retrains.--Hooda Gest"In a New York minute, everything can change..."
