ISP Information:
This is usually a program that performs the same operation of another program or a piece of hardware. For example, there are programs that allow a PC to act like a Commodore 64, a Nintendo Entertainment System, or even a Macintosh. These emulators are often developed by talented programmers just to prove that something can be done. ISP Glossary:
Emulator - I have a windows XP Pro machine that has a US Robotics internal modemin it. We have a piece of software that sends claims to EDS with thismodem. The problem I'm having is the software auto-detects the modemfine, but when I start up the PC it won't realize that it's on until Ido something else with the modem. For instance, I can dial to abulletin board just fine, and then exit out of there, and go into thissoftware and it transmits fine. And it will work for the rest of theday until I come in and turn my computer on the next day. Then I haveto dial the bulletin board again before this software realizes themodem is there. So I was wondering if there is anything I could run ina batch file on startup to send something to this modem so it realizesit is on. Any help would be appreciated. I tried to ECHO the init.string to COM3, but the XP DOS parses the string at each "&" and sendsit separate commands that end up saying they aren't recognizedinternal commands or batch files. Suggestions? Thanks,Brian Mosher
