ISP Information:
The infrastructure needed to support public key encryption. It requires a certificate authority to issue and verify the public keys, a registration authority that verifies the identity of a person or organization before a key is issued, a certificate directory of the public keys, and a certificate management system. Public key encryption can be used to verify an identity or to encrypt data or messages. ISP Glossary:
PKI - I wanted to send email directly, but it doesn't appear that this post hada valid address. I'm reluctant to post anything here (though I used to),because the last time I did so several years ago Pat insisted in puttinga "real" return E-mail address and I've been "spammed" regularly ever since. But if and only Pat is willing to leave my return address in a 'munged'state I will reply here.I looked at the photographs on the web site posted, and there is no waythis was built in the 1940s. The transistorized board for the amplifieris late 1950s or even early 1960s technology. I'm reasonably certainthat the "standard" 9 volt battery shown was developed for the transistorradios of thh 1950s: I've never seen one in a 1940s device. Hopefullythis will help in tracking down the origen of this device, which looksto me as if it was built as a "one-off" or prototype and was not acommercial unit.B. Z. Believe it or not,B.Z., at one point in my old age, I actually wanted to have as perfecta Digest as I could, a place where readers would feel free to expresstheir ideas and engage in public and/or private email teaching andlearning from others. I do not feel that way any longer. Now I mostlyleave the munging alone and let everyone fight the spammers the bestway they can, in the way they feel best. If the guys cannot reach eachother effeciently any longer because of spam, that's really too bad,but I am burned out worrying about it. Just sitting here now, waitingpatiently for the day when the spam traffic reaches 95-98 percent ofthe total traffic each day. PAT]
