NBC had previously said it expected Athensto be as profitable as Sydney, which sources pegged at around $50million.Through 12 days of competition, NBC's prime-time coverage of theAthens games was up 8 percent in the ratings compared with Sydney, according to Nielsen Media Research. Similarly, the other NBCUniversal networks carrying the Games -- MSNBC, CNBC, USA, Bravo andTelemundo -- were also up sharply. While it was too early to say definitively what sort of effect theGames would have on the networks, particularly their non-Olympicprogramming, NBC Universal said there were some early positiveindications.- http://finance.lycos.com/home/news/story.asp?story=43314507
