Very Long Instruction Word - Hi.I've got a fresh installation of Windows XP Professional and also have aPhonicPro V92/V90 External Fax Modem. I have installed the drivers usingthe enclosed CD but when I connect to the Internet, I get very badconnection reliability. To improve it, I have changed the Data ConnectionPrefernces for the modem to:Port Speed = 115200 (max)Data Protocol = Standard ECCompression = EnabledFlow Control = Hardwarein the Modem Properties in Phone And Modem Options in Control Panel. Alsoif I go to the Modem Configuration properties by clicking on Configure onthe property page of the BT Yahoo! Internet Connection, I have changed a fewoptions here:Maximum speed (bps) = 921600Enable Hardware Flow Control = YesEnable Modem Error Control = YesThe connection is better, but unfortunately over time, gets progressivelyworse. Is there anything I can do to make it work?I must point out that I had Windows Me on the same machine and it workedperfectly fine out of the box without any tweakings.
