Bus speed - "E. Kunze" wrote in messagenews:rf2jlvk36kns2stog5fmc0jcspuls9odrv@4ax.com... In an earlier thread I read, that sitting behind a DACS = Digital Access Carrier System (sharing the phone line with another connection) may reduce the possible top speed of a 56k modem. Is there any way to find out by measurement, wether a DACS is in the line, or do we depend on getting the fact by inquiry at the phone company? When you can't get over 28800bps (usually 26400bps) connections ever, when aknown good modem won't do it on your line, when you have eliminated allother possibilities (like equipment sharing the line or inhouse wiringproblems), you are probably dealing with the DACS problem.--Hooda Gest"In a New York minute, everything can change..."
