FTP - If you order furniture from the Restoration Hardware Web site, beprepared to wait an eternity and to have no idea when or whether thefurniture will arrive. And when it arrives it will be the wrong color.Then you will be told that the color that you ordered three months agois no longer available. That, at least, was our experience withRestoration Hardware.We ordered two brown leather recliners from the Restoration HardwareWeb site at Christmas.They initially gave no information about when the chairs might arrive.In subsequent weeks I called "customer service" to find out. I wasgiven three different shipping dates, Jan. 24, Feb. 16, and finallyMarch 1. I was stunned at how little information "customer service"had about where the chairs were and when they might arrive. They couldnot tell me who the manufacturer was, where the manufacturer waslocated, where the chairs were, etc. They had very minimalinformation. At one point, a customer service rep confessed that themanufacturer was "not responding to our inquiries."The Web site promoted a "Check your order status" feature, but theinformation there never changed. In fact, you were not able to checkorder status by using that feature.When I called this morning to report that the furniture at long lasthad arrived but was the wrong color, the Restoration Hardware customerservice rep tried to wash his hands of it by saying: "We're reallyjust the middleman between you and the manufacturer." Yeah. Well,Restoration Hardware is the one with the chair on its Web site, andRestoration Hardware is the one billing my credit card.I had ordered brown and been sent black. The customer service rep toldme they're not making brown any more. So now after waiting 3 monthsfor these chairs, we're back to Square One.Don't do business with Restoration Hardware.
