ISP Information:
The standard that came after CGA and before VGA. It allowed resolutions up to 640x350 pixels and 16 colors from a palette of 64. It was soon replaced by VGA. EGA images look squished because the aspect ratio of 640x350 is not flattering compared to the more standard 640x480 resolution of VGA that corresponded exactly to the 4:3 aspect ratio of most computer monitors.

It won'twork with your PcTel.I'm not sure that modem has any post-call diagnostics.But you don't need anything from the modem, you already have what you needto get them to fix the problem: You've identified an audible noise problemand you've shown it to be on their side of the demarc (the interface box).The telco does not care about your modem, they care about voice quality. Sodo you, to some degree, because you need to have that basic voice quality inorder for the modem to work and you need very good voice quality for it towork well.Well I 35 year veteran from SBC showed up this morning and performedall line tests that he could. My noise was -32dbm leak and all balancetests were good He did not have the proper piece of equipment to runthe 1000hz loss test. Before dropping by he did replace the "lineextender" as he called it. He also told me all the buried cablebetween me and the trunking station is 30 years old and takes a prettyscenic (meaning not direct) so I guess I'm lucky to get any connectionat all. I am connecting at between 30.6 and 24k now so I guess thatwill have to do. Anybody try the dish network Satallite internet yet?
