ISP Information:
This is synonymous with VMS. It is an operating system designed by Digital Equipment Corp. to run on its VAX hardware. It was initially called VMS, but renamed OpenVMS when it was ported to run on the 64-bit Alpha processor, and also to signify its support of POSIX.
