ISP Information:
Applications that have a code base (1-tier) separate from the database management system (1-tier), such as using Delphi to interact with Microsoft SQL Server (1+1 = 2 tier). The application code resides on the "fat client," which is used to process data. The problem with 2- tier applications is that they become complex and hard to support as the user base increases in size. What is good for 50 people may not work for 300 ISP Glossary:
2-tier architecture - X-No-Archive: Yes"Leela Futurama" wrote in messagenews:1caf855c.0311020016.6667ff5a@posting.google.com... Have a 1993 Ford Probe w/stick shift. Screech like sound when I go through my gears and slightly when I'm driving (drive locally around town 30-40 mph). When the car is idling or the clutch is in, there's no screech. I'm taking car in to mechanic on Monday and wish I had some idea of what it might be. Your thoughts are appreciated.Hi Leela,If your lucky it may be just a belt squeal. When you're shifting gears theengine rpm goes up then down, the inertia of your alternator, p/s pump anda/c comp etc stresses the belt grip at these times. You may also hear a beltsqueal when the engine is first started cold. Ask your mechanic to check anddress the belts while he's checking it. Hopefully the noise not being therewith the clutch in is due to lower engine rpm. Coolant spilt on the belt isnotorious for causing such a problem.Mike
