Video Home System - Hi allI wonder if anyone can help me with a new modem I tried to install in afriend's pc. He just upgraded to XP Home edition from win 95 and bought anew modem Netcomm V92/90. Installed modem responds to all diagnostic tests(ping and the XP diagnostic) but when trying to connect to ISP it goes onlyto the identifying user/password stage and then everything in the pcfreezes. Each time we have to re-boot to get everything working again byusing the reboot button, it won't even respond to Ctrl Alt Del.The pc is a Compaq Pentium III 450 MHz, 320 (yes 320) RAM. I am thinking itmight be a memory problem but when checking available memory it shows atleast 120 Mb available. We tried uninstalling and re-installing but no luck.I switched off the XP firewall but no difference.I am losing whatever hair I've got left. Does anybody have any suggestions?Have you seen this problem before?ThanksKon
