ISP Information:
Think of a clock cycle as one tick of the second hand (but generally at a much higher speed). Computer clocks run voltage through a tiny crystal that oscillates at a predictable speed to give a meaningful timing method to the computer. One clock cycle doesn't necessarily mean that the processor does one operation. Today's high-end processors often complete more than one operation per clock cycle, and other times, in the ISP Glossary:
Clock Cycle - Thought I'd mentioned my impression of a good product I bought a few weeksago... you know, to counter balance all the spam in the group lately. One For All, Kameleon URC-9960 remoteI have a TV, stereo, VCR, and DVD all connected and hate to use 2-3different remotes. I bought a $50 all-in-one remote with a small LCD screenbut it turned out to be a _pain in the butt_ to program. Also, it wasdifficult to read the LCD screen as it was backlit. I did some more researchand finally bought a Kameleon 8-Device remote. This thing is the _greatest_!There are no buttons on the remote. Instead it has a flat screen that iscompletely blank when at rest. When the remote is moved or the screen istouched, it lights up with all the "buttons" displayed. It's not actually atouch screen as it requires that the screen be depressed but it's veryclose. I like this feature as on other remotes the writing (such a volumeand channel) always rub off. One of the best features of the remote is thatit only displays the buttons for the device you are controlling. So eachbutton is large and the remote is not confusing whatsoever. Another greatfeature is the ease in which it can be programed Kameleon stocks a hugeselection of devices that can be programed into the remote with simplecodes. Again, it's easy to program as only the programing buttons aredisplayed at the time. I also like that the display is a bright blue color.I can easily read the screen from 20 feet away.I'm not affiliated with One For All in anyway... I just finally found aremote that is easy to use. You can check it out at:http://www.oneforall-int.com/comfiles/index2.htmlTake a look at the demo. It looks and behaves just like this in real life. The macro feature was easy to use, as 1 press and only that devices controlsare displayed. It took me about 1 minute to program my setup to change fromTV viewing to DVD viewing. The only drawback... there are only 4 macrobuttons. I'd like to see at least 6. Still, I've only used 3 so far (one toturn all devices on and off, another to change TV to DVD, and another tochange DVD back to TV). I could see where other people would like to havemore then just 4.Oh... and when they add new programable codes for devices that the remotedoes not know... you call them, hold the remote up to the phone and it sendsa signal that upgrades the remote with the new codes.I bought the remote for about $100. Other remotes with lesser displays sellfor about $80 and the larger touch screen remotes sell for about $200.One other thing... buttons can be changed. So when DVD is selected thevolume buttons are displayed... well, there is no volume to control on a DVDso it's easy to just change these to control the stereo or TV even thoughDVD is still selected.Again, I have nothing to do with this company. I just like that see that acompany is actually making a product that does what it should well and thenmuch more.
