ISP Information:
This means that the graphic data is split (usually into two parts), and is displayed alternately line by line. The first pass draws every even line, and then another pass is made to draw every odd line. So for video output, if you have 480 pixel rows shown vertically, an interlaced image will show 240 pixel rows (every other pixel row) at once. It will alternate fast enough that the image looks whole and complete. This i ISP Glossary:

The old TTY devices I've seen involve a machine at both ends and both users typing only. I do recall knowing an elderly lady where quite a few years ago her calls went thru a service before ringing her phone, and then the service, probably through some type of voice recognition, sent out typewritten words on a little sort of teletype machine. Her phone was plugged into the machine so she could then respond verbally to the caller. Any suggestions are appreciated. One can cobble up something that'll do this, with noting more than oneof those old 'suction cup' pickups that you stick on a phone to recordyour conversations, and a PC with (a) a sound-card, and (b) some'speech recognition' software.
