One review of a 2.4 phone saidthat even if they pulled the battery on the handset, waves were beingsent from the base. To me this didn't seem a big deal but I wantedsomeone else's opinion. It depends on the phone. My Sony digital sends a short bust backand forth from the handset and base to let the bas know that thehandset is still in range. This way, if you walk out of range, itlets you know, ifen if the phone is "on the hook".--John L.
