ISP Information:
A software kit from Microsoft originally for Windows NT that can prevent various user actions, such as installing software or changing desktop configurations. ISP Glossary:
Zero Administration Kit - When I originally moved into my house about 4 years ago, I couldreliably connect with my dialup line at v.90 speeds (don't recall nowexactly how fast, but probably at least 48K). Then my wife called into verizon about a problem we were having with Call Waiting. Whenthis was resolved, the connect speed dropped to 28.8K max. (Geez, thanks for the help, Verizon.) And of course, Verizon has no interestin restoring my original connect speeds. Now, three years later, Verizon in NJ is finally advertising DSL formy phone number, and is advertising a 30-day free trial. I figure Iwin either way, by either keeping DSL for about $30/mo., or droppingthe service after a month and (hopefully) going to 56K dialup. But isthis a correct assumption? Will fixing the line for DSL also make theline compatible with v.90 speeds? Thanks for the info.
