Daughter Card - In misc.consumers, George said:Yahoo! definitely DOES sellmarketing info (or got hacked) of the people who sign up for free email. How do I know that? Well, I signed up for an account with the first name of"Anon" and the last name of "Ymous" and darned if I didn't receive junksnail mail, at home, addressed to that "person".First of all, are you sure your profile wasn't publicly available? Maybe thejunk mailers just harvested a bunch of Yahoo! profile info using some kind ofweb spider.Beyond that, WTF are you doing giving *ANY* personal information when signing upfor a Yahoo! account? :)If you want to see who sells your info, keep a list ofdifferent names you use to register for crap and see which ones getcirculated...it's good to know who to trust.Been doing that for years. The most notorious misuse of my personal info hascome from trip.com (which has since been bought up by CheapTickets.com). When Isigned up for trip.com, I used a unique address that only they know about. NowI'm getting all kinds of SPAM sent to that address, none of it related to airtravel.Assholes...--Friends don't let friends shop at Best Buy.
