 Is it possible to create a "box" of some kind which would give the member a quick summary of the relevant data of which the member should be aware? Along with links to the specific portions of the site at which the member could access certain features? Like: New email messages, new instant messages, new comments to be moderated (for those bloggers who moderate comments)? Maybe this "box" could be programmed to follow the member through much, if not all. of the site so that the member can click at will when the time is right? Don't Tread On Me!

Moderation is a setting applied to a forum. The "The new MyCopper Portal" forum is a moderated forum so all posts/replies in that forum need to be approved by a moderator before it's publicly visible. Unfortunately, the forum software doesn't indicate which forums are moderated. I think it's a good idea that it does so I'll add that to my list. Although I don't think we'll have any moderated forums when we go live.

When I view the page http://beta.mycopper.net/Forum/ as a guest, the Current time shown at the upper right is correct. When I view the page as a logged-in user, the Current time is five hours too fast. The source for a page downloaded at Noon local time showing incorrect time is: <div class="yafForumWelcome"> <div id="divTimeNow"> <span id="ctl00_ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_ContentPlaceHolder1_forum_ctl01_Welcome_TimeNow">Current time: 5:00:02 PM.</span></div> Linux, Firefox 2.0.0.9

Is everyone else just putting up with it or am I the only one who noticed / only one who didn't know about setting the forum profile? I'm in EST/EDT and Coppernet also seems to be in the EST/EDT time zone; do all guests automatically get EST/EDT for Current time regardless of their actual location?

The expanded weather coverage is missing  . As I do a lot of driving for work I tend to rely on that page for weather information. It was easier to use than navigating through all the different pages on NOAA.gov. I do like the new format and the added news coverage.

I did find the expanded weather page by clicking on the temperatures so that was a relief.

What is missing is the link that reads "Click Here for More Weather Info". I've also noticed that the spell check feature seems to be disabled when posting. When I make a spelling mistake it no longer underlines it in red. It only happens when I'm using IE8. I also run Safari and I didn't get the problem with that browser.

I do find a zip code, supposedly for weather, although it should do the same for time. What am I missing?

I've checked it several times, thinking I just wasn't clicking on the right thing....NADA!

Ok.....I finally found the time zone thing. You didn't mention you have to hold one hand in the air, while standing on one foot, wriggling your nose, while crossing your eyes. I could get to the profile you speak of, but not to the place to "MODIFY" it!! Have done that, now. We'll see if the time sets correctly, now.

Stickies are usually used for FAQs or "Posting Rules" or other stuff that needs to be easily referenced without having to search or dig through pages of topics. Only admins (and I think moderators) can make stickies.
